French Baguettes

Pretty darn good bread. I was impressed with how good it tasted. I need to work on my shaping technique. They weren't perfectly shaped. But it tasted pretty perfect. My family loved it with garlic butter.

Homemade Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2005
Very easy recipe. I added 3 egg yolk and one whole egg. It was easy dough to work with. We really enjoyed this boiled in chicken broth with shredded chicken, fresh carrots, and a few cubed potatoes. I thickened the broth after cooking with a little corn starch. Very yummy, hearty comfort food.

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
I have never had any luck with no-bake cookies and they are my husband's favorite. The only time he got them was when my mother made them for him. He was so excited when he came home from work and found the perfect no-bake cookie waiting for him. I timed the boiling time for 2 minutes and they set up perfectly. Thank you and my husband thanks you too!

Bellini Meanie Martini

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
What can I say. It was a perfect New Year's Eve drink. I made it with Vanilla Vodka. I also served it in Champagne flutes. It looked very elegant and tasted great. The last sip is a kicker. Pure alcohol all the way through.

Chicken Lasagna IV

Very good. Only added a small amount of Spinach to the center layer and it was perfect. I made it the night before and then baked it. Our company went back for seconds. Always a good sign. Really easy too. Thanks.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
YEAAAAHHH! I made a perfect loaf of bread. It is soooo good. I am going to keep this recipe for sure. I just got my bread machine and was feeling discouraged by the results. THis recipe went agaist the rules my bread machine. (Yeast does not touch the water) Whatever, now I know why I have never been a rule follower. This is a very perfect white bread. My household has devoured it in the first 15 minutes! Gotta make another tomorrow. Once again, YEAHHH!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
I will definitly make this my new hot wing recipe. Everyone loved them. Even my kids, and they were pretty hot. My hubby said they made his lips tingle. It is the breading that makes these so good. I did not use the sauce here. I split the difference and got a bottle of Texas Pete's Buffalo Wing Sauce and Franks Buffalo Wing Sauce and then added about 4 Tablespoons of Franks Red Hot. You can definitly make these to your own preference. I made about 60 wings!

Bread Machine Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2004
I used olive oil instead of butter and used fresh minced garlic and fresh basil. I just got my bread machine for Christmas and am not sure what the problem is yet. It sank very badly once it started baking. It looked perfect while it was raising. I guess it is just going to take more practice. I had no idea that making bread was so complicated, kinda takes the fun out of it. Tasted ok though.

Asian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
Very Good~I added a little ginger and garlic to the dressing, which I also doubled. I then added mandarin oranges and water chestnuts to the salad. I put a few red bell pepper slivers in as well. I did not add the rice noodles. I used chow mein noodles instead because it was much easier and very tasty. I seasoned the chicken breast with garlic, pepper, salt and a touch of ginger. Very good, refreshing recipe. Will definitly make again and pass it on to friends! Thanks!!

Very rich and very yummy. The topping makes it look perfect. It doesn't even matter if you get a crack in the top. Was a big hit at Thanksgiving. Will replace my old recipe! Thanks

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2004
Absolutely Perfect. I inserted cloves of garlic and then covered the whole roast with the rub. It tasted phenomenal. I took it out of the oven before the themometer said 140. It hit 140 during the resting period. It could not have been better. I used Montreal steak spice instead of plain black pepper and used sea salt. A meat themometer is a must for this to work. Yum!

My Favorite Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2004
Total success in my house. Made this for a Christmas Eve dinner and everyone loved it. I added red wine vinegar to cut the richness and also added cayenne pepper and black pepper and taragon. Only had one can of potato soup so added cream of celery and it worked fine. My son said he "liked it better than homemade potato soup and that is really saying something mom!" Will make it again!

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
This is a keeper. Was very good and hearty for a cold winter evening. I added red and orange peppers with the green. I also added more soy sauce and it took a bit more cornstarch than called for. Never measure, so not sure how much more. We served over rice. I also added a bunch more spices. All and all very good and very easy to add you own touches to meet your taste. Thanks!

Asian Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
Was not bad. I followed the directions exactly as directed. It is definitly missing something. Had a strange flavor. I think adding a little brown sugar would improve this. It was almost a metallic taste. Probably will stick with my current recipe.

Asian Carryout Noodles

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
Very tasty. I used rotisserie chicken. And added some peas for color. I also added some more bok choy that I stir fried after this was complete to add to it. The bok choy that is called for cooks down so much that it doesn't seem like it is there. A little cornstarch to thicken the sauce and it is perfect. I served with egg rolls and skewered grilled beef and and it was very yummy. The noodles are great warmed up the next day!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2004
Ok, I had very high expectations for this one. I used 6 slices of bacon and made it on the George foreman grill. I then put seasoned the chicken and also put them on the grill to quickly brown on both sides. This method worked great. It followed the recipe as written and it looked great and even smelled good. When we ate it though, was not too happy with the taste of the teriyaki and ranch together. My kids liked it and it wasn't the worse thing I have made. But the combination of the sauces were not good. I would make again with a change. Next time no teriyaki sauce and just use the ranch. The chicken was moist and it was easy though. So maybe it is just a matter of taste.

I am so excited how well this turned out. My guests will be so impressed (my husband was!) It was much easier than I thought and I only ended up using 2 cans of breadsticks. Looks like something from a professional bakery! Thanks!!!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2004
This is an excellent recipe if you like soft cookies. My 6 year old son helped make this and loved rolling the cookies in the sugar. We made the recipe as written and it made 2 1/2 dozen. Definitly double or triple for Christmas baking. Great cookies!
