Chrissy's Sweet 'n' Sour Tomato Salad

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
Excellent! I use Splenda instead of sugar and a bit less oil than called for to cut the calories. What a perfect summer salad. Hubby loves!

Lemon Ice-Box Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
This is a wonderful cake. I didn't use the whipped cream mixture for the icing at all because I was scared after reading the other reviews that it wouldn't turn out right. I made a cream cheese icing and added some lemon juice instead. I also added pudding to the micture (lemon of course) which is something I do as a rule for any recipe that includes a cake mix. My husband took it to his ofice for a birthday party, and everyone raved about it. It was light and perfect - especially for summer.

Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
This is one of my favorite recipes of all time. I, too, double it and sometimes use an entire pork loin verses just the tenderloin. Good Lord, is it divine!!!

Cheese and Garden Vegetable Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
This is absolutely unbelieveable. Fresh garden tomatoes, of course, make all the difference in the world, but I can't imagine it would be bad no matter what kind of tomatoes you use! Everyone for whom I ever make this goes nuts over it. Thanks!

Buttermilk Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
This was a diasater. I'm not sure how everyone else gave it 5 stars. I followed the recipe exactly, and there wasn't near enough of the pecan mixture for 6 chicken breasts. It was a big gloopy mess! I went ahead with it as best I could and was actually encouraged after it cooked. It looked good and smelled pretty good. But it was terrible. Sorry.

Sausage Hash Brown Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2007
This recipe is DEE-LISH!! I am asked to make it for every office party that I or my husband ever have. It's really good with spicy sausage, if you like a little kick. One thing though: it shouldn't say "package" of French onion dip because that's misleading like it's a dry mix or something. You're supposed to use the ready-made stuff from the dairy section. Yum!

Chocolate Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2005
OH MY GOSH!!!!!!! This was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth, and I am a pretty strict judge! Made it for a birthday at work and there was not one single bite left after 5 people. I will definitely have to double next time. Followed others' suggestion and only used 1 cup of water. I cannot believe that something so incredible easy was so incredibly good. Run, don't walk, to your kitchen and make it now! :)

Marilyn's Special Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2004
Would have given this 5 stars except that "Marilyn" got it wrong. This is an old French recipe that should have 3/4 c oil + 1/4 c lemon juice with only 2 garlic cloves and salt & pepper for the dressing. Prepared the tradtional way, it's definitely worth all 5 stars.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2004
I am sorry to say we thought this was absolutely awful. My husband and I love buffalo wings, and I was skeptical at first because the thought of that in a pizza sounded so strange. But all of the fabulous reviews persuaded me to give it a shot. Yuck!

Posh Squash

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2004
This had really good flavor, but the 2 eggs gave it an unexpected consistency that we didn't really like. Would make again with one, or even no eggs.
