Scotcharoos

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
like others have said, i was thrilled to find this recipe -- these were a favorite "camping" treat for me when i was a kid. i did the topping like my mom used to -- i just spread the chips on top after pressing the rice krispie mixture into the pan. since the mixture was still warm, the chips softened and melted (i used more than this recipe calls for)...i just had to spread the topping as the chips softened/melted (they completely melt, and you don't have to use any more dishes by doing it this way).

Yummy! ...I'm so glad this was listed in the Daily Recipes section; otherwise, I'm not sure I would have come across it. Absolutely delicious -- and easy!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2006
Very tasty! ...Made this exactly as written for Father's Day...everyone loved it...my parents even came back the next day to finish off the leftovers for lunch. As suggested by another reviewer, I served this with Homesteader Cornbread from this site...it was also a huge hit.

Festive Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2004
Everyone who tasted this fudge over Christmas raved about it. It's softer than fudge I'm used to (it's best kept refrigerated), but it was wonderful. As a bonus, it was super easy to make. I used milk chocolate chips. Yum!

Barbecue Beef Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2004
I was so happy to find this recipe after craving these for years! When I was a child, some family friends made these a couple of times when my family visited -- they made enough of an impression on me that I craved them decades later. ...I don't have a muffin pan at the moment, so I used crescent rolls instead of biscuit dough and made the dish as a "wreath" on a baking stone. ...The flavor of the barbecue sauce is very important in this dish, so I always use a barbecue sauce that I love.

Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2004
I was excited to try this recipe, but I found it to be only mediocre...tasted like old-fashioned tater tot casserole to me. However, my husband liked it quite a bit. I will try it again someday, but I'll leave out the mushroom soup (that's probably why it tasted like plain ol' tater tot casserole to me) and add more cheese soup.

Snackasnicker Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2004
This is very easy to make and after it cools long enough (I'd recommend refrigerating overnight), it tastes pretty close to Snickers cheesecake. The tidbits of melted candy bar are tasty, but overall, this is a little too cream cheesy for my taste...and I love cream cheese! I'll probably make it again, but I'll try to make it less cheesy tasting (not sure yet how I'll do that).

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2004
The best chocolate chip cookies my husband and I have ever tasted. It's amazing how they get a little crisp on the bottom but the chocolate chips stay soft 'n' gooey...even after the cookies cool. YumYum (two yums up!)...

Cream Cheese Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2004
I served this, with a couple modifications, instead of wedding cake at my wedding reception a couple months ago. I replaced the butter flavored extract with 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon lemon extract. I used mini-bundt pans (I put the batter in a freezer bag and then cut off a corner to get the batter into the pans), so each batch had to bake for only 20 minutes. To serve, we topped each fabulous little cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Our guests loved them, some referred to them as "doughnuts," and more than a few asked for the recipe. Thank you for the recipe and reviewer's comments!
