Slow-Cooked Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
Took this to an office potluck & gave out the recipe to several co-workers because it was so yummy! I tripled the hash browns (3 cups) as suggested in some other comments, and when I make it at home, I'm going to go for 4 cups. Definitely a keeper & so easy to make.

Chili Rick's

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
Yummy! I tied for 1st in a chili contest with this recipe. I cut the recipe in half; otherwise, it wouldn't have fit in my crock pot. I followed the advice of others that said to let it sit for a day before serving, and that's exactly right. The flavors were so much better. I'll be making this often.

Heather's Cilantro, Black Bean, and Corn Salsa

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
It does make a lot. I made 2 batches and took them to a potluck, and I would have been better off splitting 1 batch. Everyone asked for recipe because everyone liked how refreshing it was and it was actually healthy.

Butterscotch Oatmeal

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
So yummy. My kids love this recipe and it's the only way they'll eat oatmeal.

Dump Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Very easy and very moist! Did recipe exactly as listed and it turned out great. Didn't do frosting (my family doesn't like frosting), instead just put some whipped topping on top. Really quick and easy.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
Excellent! I did follow someone else's idea on letting it cook until it stopped jiggling - that took approximately 20 minutes more.

Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2002
This was really easy and tasty. My kids who are really picky eaters really enjoyed it. To make sure they'd eat it, I used horseradish sauce instead of straight horseradis. It was very tasty. There was no way my slow cooker would have had this done in 1 1/2 hrs., though. It took that time just to boil, and then I turned it down to simmer. Yummy!!

Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2001
I made this for Christmas-all the adults loved it, but my kids didn't care for it-it's not really sweet (which all the adults liked) but most kids don't care for. All the more for us! This was very good and a real treat. I personally should have baked it for less time - I think my oven's warmer than it should be. Keep an eye on it if you're unsure of your oven so it doesn't dry out.

Butterscotch Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2001
These were a little bit of work having to make pastry dough, but they were really yummy. I served them with vanilla ice cream which was wonderful. My sauce did not turn out, though, it was runny and separated. I followed the directions, but the sauce was not what I expected

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2001
These were really quick, really easy, and the kids loved watching them bake in the oven. I don't have an 8-muffin tin, so I used what I had - a 12-muffin tin, and baked them for 20 minutes. I figured they'd be kind of flat, but they were nice and big! Will do these again.

Fruit Pizza II

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2001
I really liked this recipe. I've tried other versions, but the glaze was the difference in this one - very tasty! I didn't give it to my kids because they like fruit plain and wouldn't have tried it, but everyone else at my July 4 cook out thought it was wonderful.

BLT Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2001
This is such a yummy recipe! Very easy, and it holds well in the refrigerator. I've also had it with toast that's been cut into little triangles which is yummy too, but not for humid days (toast will get soggy). My kids liked it, but they picked around the tomatoes.

Lime Chicken Picante

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2001
The taste was wonderful! I really liked it with sour cream instead of yogurt. My chicken breasts were fairly thick so the browning process took much longer and my butter burned. Next time I'll pound the chicken down to make them thinner and easier to brown. Didn't give it to my kids, it's not something they would eat. Great recipe!

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2001
This was easy and yummy. I personally prefer my cheesecakes thicker, and this is a "thinner" cheesecake. The blend of tastes was very good. I'll make this again.

Apple Pizza Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2001
While the recipe itself was very tasty, my crust didn't even come close to filling out a 12" pizza pan, and I thought the cheese would melt (it didn't at all). A few more tips from the cook as to appearance would have been helpful.

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2000
This was an unbelievably easy recipe. It has a wonderful taste without being overbearing. My kids (both 4) don't like pumpkin, so if your kids aren't big fans of pumpkin pie, they may not like it. All the adults thought it was great!

Bar Cookies from Cake Mix

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2000
This is a wonderfully easy recipe. It had a very "from scratch" taste to it without all the hassle. Next time I plan on trying it with a chocolate cake mix and peanut butter chips for a yummy twist.

Banana Oatmeal Crumb Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2000
The oatmeal texture was really good-I didn't think the banana taste really came out-I thought it tasted like a really yummy oatmeal cookie-my kids liked it because it tasted like a cookie, too.

Bittersweet Chocolate Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2000
This is a wonderful recipe if you like bittersweet chocolate-my boys didn't like it as well as the adults because it's not as sweet. I made it for Father's Day and we really enjoyed it. It has a very "expensive" taste to it.
