Been cooking since I was a child; Mom made all our bread, cookies, etc. I grew up eating nothing but fresh veggies; I'm the only person I know now that loves rhubarb! I have one son & 4 grandsons;worked for IBM - 30 yrs/retired.
My favorite things to cook
New things. My son used to say, "don't tell her it's good or she'll never make it again..." It was true - cooking is an experiment to me and if it works - then it's on to something new!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving: marinated mushrooms & cauliflower; pumpkin pie made from good ol' Libby's recipe on can. At Christmas: roast beef & Yorkshire pudding, & steamed plum pudding w/hard sauce. New Year's Day: roast goose.
My cooking triumphs
Gave dinner parties for 10-12 people; have given sit-down dinners for 20 adults + kids. Enjoyed themed dinners, e.g., Mexican, Indian, etc. Open houses during the holidays were fun.
