This is my go-to chili recipe! I'm from the east coast, so chili with beans is what I'm use to. I make a few modifications though. I omit the sausage, celery, bacon bits, beer, bouillon, and Worcestershire . All that is unnecessary if you want some down to earth chili (saves a lot of money too). Sometimes the tomato past (I don't think it does anything other than thicken the consistency). I also add a whole bell pepper for a half recipe (6 servings feeds a 3 person family for 2 days). I add 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder, and add more seasonings to taste (I may go overboard on the cumin - love that stuff). I add garlic powder as well as the minced garlic because it just tastes better, honestly. I also cook the peppers and onions before adding to the chili. Drain the canned tomatoes, not the chili beans. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, saltine crackers and some red wine. Everyone loves this chili! I give it 4 stars because sausage and beer? Seriously? Save that for some other meal, or drink the beer with your chili.
