About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom with 2 young children. My husband and I own a small, family run business. We enjoy snowboarding in the winter and skateboarding in the summer. I love to cook year round.
My favorite things to cook
I love making desserts, especially cupcakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making taco soup for Halloween night dinner.
My cooking triumphs
I think making trifle just makes you look like you know what you're doing. :-)
My cooking tragedies
When I was in high school, me and a friend made french bread for french class. We had no idea that a package of yeast was such a small amount compared to the entire 'package' that we used. The bread turned out very dense to say the least.

Banana Chocolate Chip Dessert
I made this after Thanksgiving...Looking for something that wasn't PIE & on the lighter side. This was perfect! I used whole wheat, substituted 1 T ground flaxseed & 3 T water for the egg, halved both the sugars & used applesauce instead of butter. It was AMAZING! I took them to a family gathering & they completely disappeared. Thanks for the great recipe.

Zippy Summer Shrimp
This was so yummy! I omitted the paprika because I didn't have any. Oops. I also used garlic powder too. I served it with sautéed zucchini, onion & yellow squash over angel hair pasta. Was even great chilled the next day.

Cranberry Orange Cookies
This cookie is delicious & very pretty. The only thing I changed was I added a splash of almond extract to the batter & after tasting the end result, I think the orange zest (which I accidentally added 1tsp) over powered it. I used a big cookie scoop, probably 1/4 cup & cooked for 16 mins. Perfect! It made 21 cookies. Perfect for the holidays. Thank you!
