Chocolate Covered Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
The first and second day, these were awesome! So much better than PEP bars. Yesterday was the third day and I thought they got kind of grainy and tasted more like icing sugar than the creamy mint center they had had. Was lot of work dipping them, we ended up with about 100 and used probably a pound of chocolate. Make sure to let the filling freeze before dipping.

CARNATION® Famous Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
We used white chocolate instead of semi sweet and cut back a bit on the sugar. The flavour and texture is awesome, except that the sugar never melted. So when you're chewing, you crunch through each sugar grain... We'll definately try this again and try to figure out how to melt the sugar.

Sweet And Sour Chicken Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Really yummy! I make my own chicken balls, not following the recipe but the sauce is great! I would double the chicken mixture because otherwise it's mostly sauce. Very yummy and alot of fun to throw together. Thanks!

Creamy Butternut Squash With Cinnamon Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I usually love alot of spices in my food but this one had too much cloves. I've made it twice and if we make it again it will only be as a starter, it's not filling enough for dinner. We used milk instead of half-and-half to make it healthier.

Big Smokey Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
I made this again last night with ground ostrich. I used only about 1/2 tsp smoke, but I'm really sensitive to it. Also used about 2 tbsp chipotle paste and added black peppar. These are so good! My husband said they were one of the best burgers he's ever had! Thank you!!!

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
This recipe works well when you have little time to get dinner together. Next time I'll cut the breadcrumbs down by at least half. It was just way too much. The flavour combination is a bit odd, but it works. I keep this recipe around for those last minute dinners, but it's definately not gourmet food...

Pumpkin Roll II

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
This recipe is awesome! It's incredibly easy to make. My friend has requested it as their very non-traditional wedding cake! I had to make 2 in 2 days to satisfy my co-workers. So good and so easy! Thank you!

30-Minute Minestrone

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
This was really yummy and super healthy! I added a bit of chicken bullion and some extra veggies, whatever we pulled out of the garden. It was really fast and tasted great! We really enjoyed it as stew the next day too :-) Thank you!!!

Chocolate Cookie Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
I made this for a party, along with the Caramel Macchiato cheesecake also from this sity. I cut this recipe in half and used a smaller springform (maybe 7.5inches?). It was perfect! I cut the chocolate layer in half (quarter of the original) and it was plenty. Let the cream almost boil then add the chocolate and stir just until mixed. It turned out really creamy and soft. Wonderful cheesecake!! Half the guests preferred this one and half preferred the other one, but everyone said they were both fantastic. I will definately make this again with no changes!! Thank you!!!

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I cut back on oil and sugar, as previous reviewers. Added flax and used whole wheat flour. Baked for just over 20 mins, then they started to get quite brown so I took them out. They're pretty good, but nothing fantastic. More cinnamon next time, and will add dried fruit or berries. Although I will make again for our biking trips and an afternoon snack at work. Thanks!

Cedar Planked Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
We made this last night on the barbeque. I didn't let the plank heat first, I followed the directions that came with the plank instead. Otherwise I followed the recipe precisely and it was very tasty salmon! I marinated about 6 hours. Will definately make again! Thank you!

Cherry Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I made this twice, once for coworkers and once at home. I thought the cake itself tasted like baking powder and wasn't very exciting. There was nothing wrong with it but it wasn't very good either. Probably won't make thisagain, sorry.

Nanaimo Bars III

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
These were really really good! I cut back a tiny bit on the butter and I have no idea what 4 1-ounce pieces of chocolate was, in the end I used about 100g of dark chocolate. I added about 1/2tsp of vanilla extract in the middle layer. Very very good!! Thank you!

Curried Chicken with Mango Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
I marinate the chicken in 3 tbs curry, 1 tbs ginger and some fresh ground pepper. Then put them in the oven while the rice cooks. I also use coconut milk in the rice instead of water and wine. It's really good, like easy, healthy, comfort food. Thank you!

Wow!!! It was actually as good as it smelled! I used homegrown chillies instead of habanero, but was this really good! I will definately make this for guests! Thank you!!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

I used half milk and half water but next time will use all milk. Otherwise it was great and fairly healthy. I also boiled the potatoes for a minute or two before putting them in the oven. Will definately make again. Thanks!

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
This recipe was really good! I cooked it as stated with flour and it was perfect, although I did need to cook it longer than the recipe said. I didn't bake it and didn't add anything on the top. My boyfriend loved it and I'll definately make it again.

Orange Cucumber Tossed Salad

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
Pretty good, a little boring. I thought the oranges would give a bit more flavour than they did, although the dressing was really tasty!
