Rustic Multi-Grain Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
Delicious! I used a full cup rye flour and less all-purpose, I also skipped the white sugar and used only about 1/3 cup brown sugar. It was perfect, it rose huge and looks fantastic! We will be making this often!

Peanut Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
The cake wasn't that chocolatey as written so I had to add more chocolate. That resulted in an overly filling cake so nobody got to take seconds. The peanut butter icing was pretty good, I used a bit more PB and a bit less margarine. Less sugar and milk as well.

Four-Grain Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
This was really tasty! I made it without a bread machine. I'm not 100% sold on the cornmeal though but our guests really enjoyed this last night. 4½ stars :-)

Herbed Oat Pan Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
This was delicious! Easy, healthy, light and fluffy! The only this I'll change next time is melting honey in the oat water instead of using sugar. We served this with a stew and our guests went crazy over it. Yum!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Delicious! (updated) Make this recipe often. The only changes are vanilla in the cinnamon/sugar mixture and in the dough. And I make it by hand instead of in the mixer. Very very addictive and oh-so-good!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
These were great! Perfect amount of spices. The batter was really thick but they cooked perfectly, do not add more milk to thin them!! Definately will be making these again when we have leftover pumpkin puree. Thanks!

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was pretty good! I used natural peanut butter which is a little drier so I needed 5½ tbsp milk. I also added some vanilla which made it alot tastier. I used half to fill some chocolate cupcakes and I'll probably use the other half to make peanut butter cups/balls :)

Penne with Chicken and Pesto

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
We found the cream competed with the pesto so it ended up being quite bland. We added extra garlic and a yellow pepper which helped alot. We'll give this another shot using chicken broth instead of the cream and a red or yellow pepper...

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I made these today with 2 cups whole wheat flour instead of 2 1/4 white flour. I doubled the coffee but next time will triple it, as well as cut down on the sugar. They were really good and moist and we'll definately make them again with more coffee and less sugar :-)

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
Delicious!!! The most recent time I made it, I diced the apples instead of slicing them. It made the cake so much easier to cut!! I also micro the apples until they let go of some moisture, then put a layer mid-cake and the other half apples on top. This was the favourite dish at Thanksgiving this year.

Grilled Salmon With Orange Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
Delicious! Fast and really tasty, the only thing I changed was reduced the sauce so it was a little thicker. We'll make this often!

Lemon Panna Cotta With Raspberry-Orange Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
I added extra lemon zest but found the sauce overpowered the lemon flavour anyway. Both components were delicious, seperately, but I don't think I'll make both together again...

Thai Curry Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
This was pretty good but not spectacular. I added more goodies, some snap peas and red peppers. I think next time I'll skip the lime juice and soy, a good curry paste has enough salt and sour in it so it might be better balance without. For those who skipped the lemon grass, in Thailand they never hack up the lemon grass. Hit it with the handle of your knife or a meat cleaver, then tie it into a knot. Throw it in the pot and let it simmer then simply remove the whole piece before serving :-)

Costa Rican Coffee Panna Cotta with Bittersweet Chocolate-Rum Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
Great recipe!! It was super fast and simple to put together. We only made 2/3 of the chocolate sauce and it was still WAY too much. Next time we'll probably only make 1/3 what the recipe says. We'll probably replace some of the cream with milk to make it healthier, and possibly coconut milk for a little extra kick. Delicious!! Can't wait to make it again.
