Heavenly White Cake

This cake was okay, it was a little bland and not quite as fluffy as I had hoped. Next time I'll try adding some sugar to the whites to keep them fluffy.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

I used 'Heavenly White Cake' instead of a boxed mix, used Starbucks coffee liquer because it has a much stronger coffee taste than Kahlua, and had half marscapone, half whipped cream in the outer layer. I used a tbsp of coffee in the bottom layer and doubled the liquer everywhere. I thought the cake was still seriously lacking in coffee flavour so I whipped up a coffee sauce (coffee, sugar and heavy cream). I served each slice on top of the sauce. It was a huge hit! I'll serve it the same way next time, with the sauce. The recipe as written was only 3 stars but with my changes it's 5 stars and I think I preferred this to regular tiramisu. Thanks for the idea!

Greek Lemon Cake

I made this as written, only subbing all-purpose and cornstarch for the cake flour. It is amazing! I've finally found my base birthday cake recipe. Thank you!!!! It's moist, fluffy and lemony today, I can't wait to see how much better it is tomorrow!!

Silver White Cake

I made this using mostly half and half plus some milk as per the previous reviews. I was also a bit worried about it being dry so I added some applesauce. It was almost soggy now so next time I'll make exactly as written,although I thought it had a bit of a baking powder aftertaste when eaten before frosting. Next time maybe I'll cut the baking powder back a little?

Classic Red Velvet Cake

This wasn't a big hit at our house. It was pretty dry, crumbly and wasn't very chocolately despite some extra cocoa. It was better after sitting 2 days but we will keep looking for a good red velvet recipe.

Country Seed Bread

Delicious! I used sunflower seeds instead of the poppy seeds and ground the flax. Doubled the recipe and did it all by hand. Really good!

Michael's Foccacia Bread

Delicious! I made a different topping based on what we had at home. Let the dough rise around 30-35 mins the first time, used half the salt in the dough and just sprinkled a little on top. It is to die for good. Thank you!!!

Seared Scallops with Pineapple, Ginger and Lemon Grass Salsa

I cut the olive oil in half and added cajun seasoning to the scallops. The salsa was great but next time I'll do waaaaay more of it and use lemon juice/zest instead of lemon grass. Lemon grass just isn't meant to be eaten, there were little strands of it that weren't so appealing. Great recipe overall, will definately make again. Thanks!

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Made this for Valentines day last night. The flavour was great but they didn't hold their shape coming out of the cups so they weren't visually appealing at all. Will probably make them again anyway since it was so fast and tasty. Maybe make 3 cups from the whole recipe, maybe the problem was my brulee cups are too big ?

Maple Oat Bread

Delicious bread! We couldn't stop eating it last night. I only used 1/3 c water to proof the yeast, cut the maple syrup to 1/3c and used 1 cup of whole wheat flour. I also didn't need the last cup of white flour, probably because I cut back on the water. It was super light, fluffy and with a delicious maple finish. Thank you!!!

White Chocolate Holiday Cookies

I used applesauce instead of shortening, and only half the white sugar. I doubled the spices but next time I think I'll triple them, as they still weren't quite as spicy and I hoped. A very very delicious and addictive cookie. Thanks!!

I doubled the spices except the cloves, and added a couple dashes of Cayenne. I also used dark brown sugar instead of white. I let the dough sit overnight and it was absolutely fabulous to roll out. They are so soft inside and delicious! Finally a gingerbread recipe I'm satisfied with!! Thank you!

White Chocolate Macadamia Cranberry Dreams

Delicious!! I cut back on the white sugar and replaced half the butter with applesauce. The second time I replaced the macadamias with almonds and 1/3 of the flour with oats. Absolutely to die for, especially if you dip the bottoms in dark chocolate. Mmmmm

Mine rose high and looks great. I put half the cornmeal in it and used just 1 TBS on top. Definately tastes/feels like an english muffin, we'll make this again :-)

Rustic Multi-Grain Bread

Delicious! I used a full cup rye flour and less all-purpose, I also skipped the white sugar and used only about 1/3 cup brown sugar. It was perfect, it rose huge and looks fantastic! We will be making this often!
