Fried Corn with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2014
Yum! Very colorful and the corn is a nice substitution in place of pasta. Flavor was nice, not too bold. Likely good in tortilla shells as well.

Fabulous Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
Who knew such a simple preparation could be so good! We are hooked on this recipe, and have found yet another challenge in our quest to cut back on red meat. Some things are just too good!

Absolutely delicious! We made this recipe just the way it is written, and I wouldn't change a thing.

Smoky Mountain Chipotle Chicken

Just another endorsement for this recipe - what a great blend of flavors when made according to the recipe. The kids ate it up!

Orange Almond Biscotti II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
Yum! This was some good biscotti. A key tip on the dough - it must be very cold. I left this outside overnight to chill, afterwards I had very workable dough....and tasty biscotti.

Creole Black-Eyed Peas and Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
This was great! We ate this dish with filet mignon, so I omitted the ground beef. Also, because my kids were also eating this, I scaled back the Cajun seasoning to 2 teaspoons. Thank you for sharing.

Baked French Toast

Yumm! This was certainly the star of our recent brunch party! Numerous people asked for the recipe, and it made me look like a great chef. Thank you!

Baked Brunch Omelet

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2006
Ok....so I read all of the reviews and here is my version, which really was fantistic. I doubled the amount of ham and used slightly more than half of the recommended amount of bread. My guests were very pleased with the end result. Thanks for a great recipe.

Mary Oppenhiemer's Butter Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2005
We loved this cake, particularly because the glaze recipe was very generous and provided lots of gooo for the cake. It was easy to do, and even my kids loved eating it.

Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: May 28, 2004
Yum! Now these are whoopie pies as I remember. The cake mix was very easy to use and the "pies" were cakey rather than like hard cookies as I've found with other recipes. We really enjoyed the icing as well, since there are no raw eggs in it. Thanks for the recipe.

Spinach and Bacon Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2004
Normally I avoid anything with heavy cream AND bacon, but I had both on hand and gave this a try. How can you go wrong with this combination of ingrediants? This is a fabulous recipe (I used a pinot gregio)! It is so fast, so easy, and so delicious. As for the ugly duckling - it really didn't look that bad, just make sure you don't cook the spinach to death. Thanks, Kris!

Plum Pudding II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2002
This was my first experience making plum pudding, and while this recipe is different from those I've tasted, it was very tasty. Full of a wonderful spice flavor. We served it warm with ice cream and really enjoyed it.

Whipped Carrots and Parsnips

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2002
I made this recipe instead of potatos for our holiday dinner and received great reviews for my work. Very tasty and different. Of note though, parsnips take a long time to soften. Steaming them for up to 30 minutes doesn't work, they really need to be boiled, otherwise you'll end up with lumps of parsnips in your whipped carrots.

Moore's Cranberry Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2002
This cranberry salad was wonderful! So much so that my guests on Christmas found themselves filling up on this rather than meat and potatos. Full of texture and flavor much like that of my grandmothers. Loved it. Thanks Mary.

South Of The Sea Chicken and Bananas

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2002
This recipe was soooo good. The bananas were so incredibly sweet, I was asked to make them on future occasions as a side dish! Who ever would have guessed of putting bananas with chicken and serving them for dinner? Anyway, the combination was wonderful. Thanks for the recipe. I will definately make it again.

Balsamic Tortellini

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2001
One word, awesome! I added some red bell pepper, some basil, and topped with sharp provolone cheese instead of the parmasean. There were no leftovers even though it was just me and my husband - - - it was that good!

Farfalle Special

Reviewed: May 6, 2001
Very quick and very easy to prepare, but above all this recipe was delicious. I used fat free sour cream and skim milk rather than the heavy cream, and still managed to pull off the magnificant flavor. We will definately make this again!

Wow! What a great blend of flavors! To my surprise, this is not your standard cream of chicken over chicken recipe. We loved this recipe at our house and plan to make it one of our regular favorites.

Wrapped Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2001
The flavor of this recipe was wonderful, a refreshing change from the same old salmon recipe. A word of caution though when working with phyllo dough, be very patient. In the end it is all worth while, the flavor is not to be beat.

Hello Dollies I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2001
I didn't have a 9x9 pan, so I doubled the entire recipe (with the exception of the butter/margarine) for a 9x13 pan - - - it worked well. This is the perfect "fix" for a sweet craving. One problem, my husband couldn't stop singing the "Hello Dolly" song the whole time we were making it.
