Dave's Georgia Black Eyed Peas

Wonderful! I served it with rice. The only tiny change I made was the fact that I substituted 1/2 black beans as I didn't have enough peas on hand. It made its own nice thick gravy that was the best with rice! Great cold day meal.

Mom's Stovetop Pork Ribs

Fantastic! Had to cook them for 2 hrs on simmer, but worth the wait! Good thing I used low sodium soy sauce, as it was a bit salty. However, I don't normally cook with lots of salt, so I'm not a good judge of saltiness. The lime gave it a tiny zip! Yum!!

Slow Cooker Au Jus Pot Roast

I will try anything and needed a new pot roast idea. This sounded good. Followed the recipe to the letter. It was just ok. I had made some nice Czech style dumplings to go with the au jus. A waste of the dumplings. The roast looked and smelled great while searing... But my family was unimpressed, as was I. Something was missing in the flavor, and I am at a loss as to what.
