About this Cook
I have been a hairstylist for 21 years and have been married for 9 years. We have a 7 year old daughter and a 2 year old son.
My favorite things to cook
pasta dishes, party food, and just about anything new.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My late grandmother was an unbelievable cook. Unfortunately, we have a hard time recreating some of our favorite dishes that she made because she never measured anything, and never used a formal recipe! I print out my favorite recipes and write down any changes I make. I keep them all in a clear covered notebook, so that I can follow a recipe without getting food on it.
My cooking triumphs
I love to entertain, so any time that I have a party, I am always looking for the best rated recipes on this site. I also take the time to read others reviews. I never go wrong this way. Everyone always asks for one of my recipes.
My cooking tragedies
trying to bake anything with Splenda. It always comes out awful for me!

Luscious Slush Punch
I gave this 5 stars based on the idea - it's a great way to keep the punch cold without diluting it with ice. I was looking for a blue punch to make for my sister's baby shower in a few weeks. I tried this recipe, (cut down) but wanted to simplify it a bit, since we'll have 65 guests. I used Berry Blue Jello and cut the sugar in half. In order to keep the blue color, I used Limeade in place of the orange juice and lemon juice. I mixed it with Sprite. I tastes like a lollipop in a glass to me. :) I think it will be a hit at the baby shower.

Easy Beef Stroganoff
Yummy! Followed the recipe, but added fresh garlic when cooking the mushrooms and onion. My whole family liked this - especially my 2 year old!

Easy OREO Truffles
These taste great, but what a pain in the neck to make! I would hardly call them "easy". I did one batch with regular Oreo's and one with mint Oreo's for my husband's office. Maybe that's why it seemed like so much work. I also had a hard time getting the cookies to crumble in the food processor - I had to do 5 or 6 at a time. Tedious, but they do taste good.
