I made this as my first homeade chili, and followed the recipe exactly. I've made this about 4 times now, and I dont even look at other chili recipies, because I dont think chili can get any better than this. I usually put the chili in a slow cooker and cook on low for about 8-10 hours, until the veggies get soft. I also followed one review, and sauted onion, celery, and garlic in bacon grease. I always use about 5-6 slices of fried bacon, and I definately think this adds to the flavor. Also, I also follow other reviews (If I have the time, and plan ahead accordingly haha) and cook the day before, let cool, and reheat the next day. Seems like it helps the flavors all blend toghether this way. Again, I don't think Ill ever change too much about this recipe, it is awesome. Gives me a reason to throw parties, or get toghethers, just so other people can experience this stuff haha...
