Easy Pizza Sauce II

I was in a pinch tonight- had my pizza dough rolled out but NO sauce! Searched and found this recipe and wow- what a pleasant surprise! Something so simple tastes so good! Only change I made was to add in a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. Much more economical than buying pizza sauce and tastes great!

Snow Ice Cream II

This is SO yummy, but I don't measure out ingredients, just eyeball it. I also mix up the milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a small bowl BEFORE adding to snow.

Fresh Tortilla Triangles

If you leave the tortilla whole, you can make tostadas out of them. Or fold it in half, AFTER putting in the hot oil, and take it out before it gets too crisp, and have homemade taco shells.

Garlic Potatoes

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Made this tonight because I had some left-over white rice and seemed simple enough that my children would eat it. Wow! Was much better than anticipated- even my VERY picky son said it was good! Froze some extra chicken and rice so I can make this for another quick dinner!

White Chocolate Snack Mix

Made this for 2 of my Christmas parties this year and displayed in a tin with shiny tissue paper. Was a hit and so easy that I made some to give out as gifts. So, SO simple and fast! But do be sure and let it air out on the wax paper before you package it up or it will stick together. Even now, on New Year's Eve, I find myself "craving" it and wondering should I make more...

Dill Pickles

I made 3 jars of these pickles just 2 days ago and my teen daughter has already finished off 2 of the jars!! I have never, EVER made pickles (or canned anything) but wanted to try for fun. Don't know if I was supposed to cut the cucumbers up, but I cut them into spears. I won't even attempt another recipe as this one made perfect, crisp pickles. Be forewarned though, my daughter says they are like potato chips- you can't eat just one!

Instant Cappuccino

Simple BBQ Ribs

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I had never made an apple pie in my life, but using this recipe, I won my county's Ag Fair Apple Pie Contest!! I did use Red Delicious apples, as I am not too fond of Granny Smiths. Also, I made one batch of the sauce and mixed it in with apples before adding into bottom crust. Then, AFTER I did the lattice on top crust, I made ANOTHER batch of sauce and poured over top of pie, using as much as needed. I made this pie before the contest and took slices around to friends and family members and told them, "here, taste this and tell me what you think". Everybody raved and I was hoping they weren't just being nice. I made another pie the morning of the contest, figuring I had nothing to lose. I must say- I was really surprised when I was announced as the winner and now this will be the ONLY apple pie recipe I will ever use!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Awesome quick treat for the whole family! However, I omitted the ice and used a frozen banana instead to get the full flavor of the banana. The frozen banana kept it thick. We have made these using chocolate syrup and sometimes substituting the chocolate with strawberry syrup. Personally, I like to add a couple packets of Splenda to sweeten mine a bit. Definitely will be using this recipe ALL year round!

Sausage Gravy I

The absolute best-tasting, fool-proof sausage gravy recipe I have ever used! Made perfect texture/thickness gravy! This will definitely be the only recipe I'll ever use for sausage gravy and biscuits!

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

This recipe is definitely a keeper!! My family loved it and we fought over the leftovers! Had to scale the recipe to what I had on hand- used 8 large white potatoes, used Italian-flavored bread crumbs, used dehydrated, minced onions, omitted the salt, doubled the ham and doubled the cheese. My potatoes cooked just fine as I chopped them up in my little chopper before boiling (made them into small, hashbrown-size cubes, with skins left on. This is definitely worth a try!

Grandpa's Special Stuffing

I'm not a big stuffing eater but this recipe caught my eye because of the salami. I made this for our Christmas dinner and was highly pleased! A definite change from the normal stuffing, a change which was very welcomed! I will definitely keep this recipe in my recipe box and use it again!
