Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Kielbasa

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2015
I am shocked that anyone would think this recipe was anything other than FANTASTIC!! I loved it. I used pre-cooked Kielbasa. The brand I used was Ellliots. Elliots fully cooked Polska Kielbasa. It was mouthwatering!! I followed the recipe almost exactly, but added a half teaspoon more of spicy brown mustard. I plan on tripling this recipe and making it for my next church potluck!! The recipe was exceptionally easy and very flavorful. UPDATE: Because I used fully cooked Elliiots Kielbasa, this meal only needed two to three hours on LOW in the crockpot. My eleven year old daughter LOVED it and had seconds!! FABULOUS!!!

Ashley's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2015
This recipe was excellent. I do not have a sifter so I just used a whisk to "sift" the dry ingredients by mixing with it with a (whisk). My eleven year old daughter likes to "take over" when we bake together, so I was glad this was a fool proof recipe. I followed the recipe exactly as written, although my softened butter was partially melted. I am not even a big fan of chocolate chip cookies and these were SUPERB!! One added note: I used Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips. It gave the cookies a very decadent flavor!! Delish..

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2015
I followed the recipe exactly as written. It was very good, but not extremely flavorful. I did like that it was not greasy at all. I think next time I am going to add bacon to the top fora little more flavoring.. The recipe is very easy to follow. I loved the onion in it, i just used about 3/4 of one large onion. It looked like way too much, but cooked very nicely in the meatloaf. The real test will be when my 11 year old tries it when returning home from her friends house!!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2015
I do like this recipe so far, although it is still chilling in my fridge. I have not tasted the finished result yet. I am bringing this to a Church potluck tomorrow. I wish the recipe was more specific about the pretzels. I measured 2 cups of pretzels and then crushed them in a ziplock bag. I wish that I would have known that I needed to measure 2 cups of crushed pretzels. I also recommend applying the cream cheese layer very gently, so the pretzel crust does not accidentally get "pulled" into the cream cheese/whipped cream. I will update my review tomorrow, after the potluck!! Update, everyone at my church potluck was raving about this!! It was a huge success, and I am changing my rating to 5 stars. This is a fun dessert to make with the perfect combination of salty and sweet. I love that this is not a heavy dessert!! It truly was delicious. This will be brought to many potlucks again in the future. Very happy with the finished result.

Oreo® Cookie Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2014
Excellent. I actually only had one 16 ounce container of cool whip, so I used that. When I make this again I will use two, more for appearance than taste. The dish held together just fine without top layer of cool whip. I also used chocolate pudding instead of vanilla. VERY Nice and Tasty Dessert!!

Superb Sauteed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2014
I decided to make this recipe because I had a pound of Bella Mushrooms that would soon expire. I found this recipe on Allrecipes and decided to give it a whirl. It was delicious. The only things I did differently was to use a sprinkle of garlic powder instead of garlic salt because that is what I had. I also used Worshtershire sauce instead of teriyaki because that is what I had. I used almost 4 cloves of garlic because I love garlic!! I used Holland House cooking Sherry for the wine and it really enhanced the flavor. This recipe tastes delicious alone or would be great on top of steaks or chicken. Definitely recommend it.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2014
THIS WAS AMAZING!! I BOUGHT A CASE OF A&W ROOT BEER AND POURED TWO 12 OUNCE CANS OVER THE PORK. I BOUGHT PORK TENDERLOINS FROM WALMART. IT WAS A LITTLE OVER 3 POUNDS TOGETHER (CAME IN A PACKAGE OF TWO). I WAS LATE GETTING HOME, SO THE PORK WAS ACTUALLY ON LOW FOR 10 HOURS!!! I DID COME HOME FROM RUNNING ERRANDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY AT WHICH POINT I TURNED THE PORK OVER AND POURED JUICES ON IT. I CUT UP A LARGE WHITE ONION IN SMALL PIECES AND POURED IT INTO THE CROCKPOT IN THE MORNING WHEN I PUT THE PORK IN THE CROCKPOT. THE WHITE ONION WAS SWEET AND DELICIOUS WITH THE PORK.

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2014
This was fabulous!! I took pictures but the download is not working. The smell throughout my whole house was magnificent. My daughter and her friend LOVED the pork. As recommended in another review I marinated the pork in Dr.Pepper and an entire bottle of Barbecue sauce. I used Garland Jack's Six Sweet Brown Sugar Barbecue sauce. This meal was heavenly and will be made again many times in our house. FANTASTIC!!!

This was so easy!!! My ten year old daughter and her friend loved the meatballs. I used 94% lean ground beef instead of ground turkey. I made the meatballs and then served them with spaghetti and Emerils marinara sauce!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND SOOO EASY!!!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2013
This recipe was super easy. I was able to bake a cake and clean while this was in the slow cooker. I cooked mine on high for four hours. I did sear the meat to let flavor and moisture in. I also poured olive oil in the mixture of condensed soup and onion soup mix. I will DEFINITELY make this again and again. The next time I make it, I will probably cook on low for eight hours instead of high for four hours. I took several pictures, but my computer is not cooperating :(

Chef John's Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2013
I made the Blueberry Muffins today, and found them to be a little bit bland. However I ate one straight out of the oven without letting them cool first. Based on other reviews, next time I will use less flour (maybe 2 cups?). The recipe actually easily makes 18 muffins, and needs only about 24 minutes to bake. When I make this recipe again, I will try adding vanilla extract, and maybe using my hand mixer for a shorter amount of time.

Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2013
This recipe is very good and pretty moist. It is a great pumpkin bread. I was concerned over baking it for so long though. Based on the advice of another reviewer, I baked it for 50 minutes, then took it out, lightly foiled it and baked it another 19 minutes. I actually wish I would have baked it only 15 minutes more, tops!! I was a bit disappointed with how dark the bread turned out. I will, however, make it again, and I am hoping it tastes better tomorrow. It is very good in my opinion, but not excellent. I will give this four stars.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2013
Very, very easy and very good. It was slightly salty, but extremely flavorful. My very picky nine year old daughter finished her plate. I am quite picky myself and I had seconds. I used about 1.5 pounds of ground beef instead of two. 4 hours was plenty of time in the slow cooker. I cannot stress how simple this recipe was. A definite kid pleaser!!!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
I definitely give this recipe five stars! It was extremely easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly as written. I allowed it to cool for 40 min, then jiggled my bundt pan to see if it was ready,(and it was), and when I turned it over it was perfect! I used Duncan Hines Devils Food for the cake mix, and Jello brand chocolate pudding. I recommend PAM spray with flour for baking (ESPECIALLY WITH BUNDT CAKES). My guests absolutely loved the cake. I dusted a light coating of powdered sugar on it, and then served with vanilla bean icecream. Absolute decadence!!
