Scrumptious Beef and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
this is reallly good. i do add garlic pepper seasoning and extra garlic powder. i also add about 1 stalk of celery, sliced. fresh sliced mushrooms are good too. The last time I made this I used leftover round steak and it was great. i reduce the sour cream to 1/2 cup and do not use the cereal on top.

Neat Sloppy Joes

Very good!! Much better than storebought. I add chopped bell pepper along with onion and celery, and saute them first. Even hubby raved, and he's not to fond of the canned sauce :)

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
I made this for my husband and me last nite and it was a hit!! I used bread flour instead of AP flour and added 1 Tbl. pizza seasoning and 1/2 tsp. garlic powder to the dough. I divided dough in half and rolled out each fairly thin (came out as thin and crispy, if you like a thicker crust, dont roll as thin) and placed on pans and pricked with for (like pie crust) before baking at 450 for 8 min. Put one crust in freezer(with no toppings) to use later. Brushed the other crust with garlic butter, put on toppings and finished baking at 425 till crust was browned and cheese was bubbly. My husband and I had to keep from eating the whole thing ;) No more bisquick crust or take out for us!! Not sure why some came out with more of a bread than crust, but I would guess that they didnt roll it out thin enough to begin with. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Brownie Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
This was great!! I did make a few changes as suggested by other reviewers, decreasing the brown sugar to 3/4 C. and water to 1/2 C. (used hot coffee) and increasing the cocoa powder in both parts to 2Tbl. I also subbed 1/4 C. Splenda sugar blend for the 1/2 C. white sugar. If you let it set for about 30 min. after baking, the "pudding" part will set up and not be runny. Thanks for a great and easy recipe!!

Kraut Bierocks

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
These turned out awesome!! I had to leave the dry milk out of the dough (didn't have any), but didn't seem to affect the dough any. They tasted just like the runza's i remember eating while i was living in Neb. Maybe even better ;). Thanks for the great recipe!!

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2006
Just got these out of the oven, and these are great!! I did make some substitutions to lessen the sugar(dietary reasons)--used 1/2 pkg. sugar free vanilla pudding, 1 Tbl. Splenda sugar blend in the dough. Subbed 3/4 C. Splenda brown sugar blend w/ the cinnamon and omitted the pecans (didn't have any) for the filling. Instead of the cream cheese frosting, I used a glaze of 1 C. powdered sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. lemon juice and 3 Tbl. milk. Thanks for the great recipe!! Hopefully there's some left when the hubby gets home ;)

Sourdough Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2006
This bread turned out great! I used the starter by the same person. It rose so much the first time I thought I should have used a bigger bowl! ;) The only change I made was reducing the sugar to 1/4 C. Bread had good flavor, slight sour taste, not sweet like some others have noted. Not as sour as I like it, but the other two in the house don't like a strong sourdough, so it's ok. I will definitely make this again.

Fabulous French Loaves

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
The name says it all!! Fabulous!! Only thing different I did was dissolve the sugar in all of the warm water and let the yeast proof in that. I divided the dough after the first rise and put half in the freezer for later,, and it kept growing ;) This is definitely a keeper!!

this was a very good frybread recipe. It was a little tough, but i think that was my fault :) i used bread flour instead of all purpose and let it sit too long (something came up). But i will b trying it again.
