About this Cook
I am 17 almost 18 year old girl who is half American half Spanish (Spain). I move every 3 years to a different country around the world so I am very diverse in culture. I started cooking as a hobby at the beginning of the year and it is now a passion. People are amazed at how many different and international dishes I have made in less than a year. I give all the glory to God :)
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE baking and desserts but I'm trying to limit it to watch my figure :P Cookies, cakes, cupcakes, arroz con leche, anything with coconut or chocolate. I love making international cuisines for my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom cooks so most of what we eat is Euoropean-Spanish cuisine. -We make sugar cookies every year for Christmas at midnight.. not sure why but just happened to be. -Arroz con leche is my FAVOURITE dessert, which many people fail at since it literally translates as "rice with milk" though people mistake it as a pudding, horrible. -Tortilla de patata is a popular Spanish dish that many people we made it for love
My cooking triumphs
-Making 3 batches of shortbread cookies because I wasn't happy with the first one and they were all gone in a few days... 3 batches for 4 people. They were addicting. -Addicting granola bars had everything I love: coconut, oatmeal, nuts, dried fruit, and honey. -My first time EVER making a pizza by myself--nailed it. Thank the Lord :)
My cooking tragedies
-Thinking the nuts I was roasting in the oven would take longer as I was eating dinner (only 8 minutes passed) and they slightly burned... -Misreading a recipe that called for "5 TBSP" of milk, and I put vanilla extract for the frosting... thank God I took it out on time and did not mix it!

Asparagus with Cranberries and Pine Nuts
It was good, but it was WAY too much olive oil as well as nuts and cranberries. It was really greasy and my stomach was kind of hurting. I got full half way eating. Next time I'll put less nuts/cranberries and olive oil, as well as cooking it a bit longer because I like it a bit charred.

Donut Muffins
They were delicious! SOOOOO addictive and moist! I made sure to put 1/2 teaspoon of all-spice instead of 3/4 :) Yum :)
