Cabbage Balushka or Cabbage and Noodles
Very simple comfort food. It makes a nice homey dish for a cold winter evening. Sometimes I go crazy and add turkey bacon or, cook the cabbage down in a little chicken broth. I always add some garlic. This dish really isn't anything special (in fact, overall it's pretty bland)and yet, it always gets gobbled up. Served with crusty bread slathered in butter and cheap red wine served European style in a short chunky glass - it seems to appeal to a sense of primal peasantry and, a longing for simpler times.

Beef Pot Roast
The perfect (every single time) pot roast. A suggestion from one who just seldom feels the need to follow directions & has to constantly tweek & personalize every recipe I feast my eyes on - JUST TRY to leave this one alone. It is perfect as it is, your guests will love it and you will be the little kitchen genius who knows how to make a perfect roast beef.

Grilled Escarole
This is a classic in my home during the long fabulous Las Vegas grilling season. It's super easy, always delicious and goes with anything you've popped on the grill - steak, seafood, chicken, grilled veggie plate. The only thing I do differently is to use blue cheese dressing with the blue cheese crumbles. Definitely adds a 'special', gourmet touch to your meal and tastes great.
