Easy Maple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
I was a little hesitant as the ingridients didn't look like they would taste good together but I trusted the reviews and the recipe was amazing. We sopped up the sauce with our potatoes and broccoli. The only things I changed is that I added 2 cups onion because we love them and I seared my chops in a cast iron skillet and placed the skilet directly into the oven rather than transfer to a casserole dish. Would definitely make it again

Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
GREAT recipe!!! Juicy and tasty. I added some seasoning to the breading...onion powder, basil, thyme. Otherwise followed recipe and it came out amazing. I'm learning to cook and my husband was astonished I made something so amazing. It was so easy!

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
My husband and I are seafood lovers with Salmon being on the menu once/week. We are always looking for new and inventive ways to eat salmon so I tried this recipe and its great!! Definitely will be adding this to the regular roster. I have had honey mustard salmon many times before and this ranks up there with the best of them. It is a little sweeter than usual but simply add a little more mustard next time.

Parmesan Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
I wish I could make this a 6 star recipe because I have only had brussel sprouts twice in my life and I HATED them. My husband insisted on buying these little alien vegetables last week as he has loved them as a kid so I scoured the net for seemed to be the best way to eat them. I settled on this recipe and I can't believe how much I now love brussel sprouts. I have cooked them twice since and I will keep cooking them thanks to this recipe. I love this website! thank you

Garlic Brussels Sprouts with Crispy Bacon

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
I have been cooking brussel sprouts this way without the bacon and broth for a few weeks now and loving it. When I found this recipe I decided to try the addition of bacon and broth. Neither one in my opinion enhanced the flavour of the BS in any way. It just tasted like brussel sprouts with a side of bacon and the broth didn't add any flavour that I could taste from cooking them without.

Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 7, 2013
I made this appetizer as written, it yielded 29 mushroom caps, and served it at a family function. The comments were that it was "ok". I have to agree with another reviewer who commented the recipe was bland, it really did lack flavour. It wasn't bad, just lacked that extra something. I do however think its a great idea, easy to make and worth making again with a little tweaking on spices. I would recommend to any first-time makers of this recipe to add some sort of kick to the mixture. I'll figure out what and re-comment

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2013
This is by far the best stir fry I have ever made and it is now my go-to recipe. I made some adjustments based on my pantry: I used raw shrimp, I shaved fresh ginger (I keep one in the freezer at all times), and I replaced the red chili flakes with a little squirt of siracha sauce because I don't like really spicy food and it gave me the right heat. My husband cleaned his plate and we discussed how awesome this would be as a beef marinade for the grill.

Soft Mahi Mahi Tacos with Ginger-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2013
I have never had fish tacos before so I don't have anything to compare them to but they were really good. I would make them again.

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2013
This was an excellent recipe for simple, easy-to-make tomato soup. Like most people I doubled it and it worked fine. I added a few bay leaves, dash of thyme, a few fresh basil leaves, a few garlic cloves for some more flavour but even without these spices this still would have gotten 5 stars from me, they weren't necessary. I also substituted the butter for EVOO to make it a little healthier. Will definitely keep making and as I like to put parmesan cheese in my tomato soup I will probably omit all the spices.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2013
This was a great quick and easy marinara sauce. Instead of the stewed tomatoes I used fresh, peeled tomatoes as my garden went crazy and I had to do something with all those tomatoes. I would saute the garlic with the onions next time

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2013
This was a great way to use up some leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Hubby loved it. I following others' recommendations and sauteed some garlic & onion first and added frozen peas with the milk. I only had it in the oven for 30 mins and it was fine, not runny. I would have given it 5 stars if it had a little more flavour, it was still a little bland, needed some spices/herbs
