Chicken and Gnocchi Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2012
Tried this soup tonight...........another winner......another keeper. The only changes I made was I didn't have any canned/boxed chicken stock in the house. So it took longer to make because I had to make my own stock. Also, I added more garlic and other spices. Thanks, Christina.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
I made a cola pot roast tonight......I only used the dry onion soup mix and a can of diet soda, a really tough cut of meat(I didn't know what else to do with it) and then added my potato's and carrots. I didn't think we needed all the added cream soups and gravy mix's..... The roast was so tender it melted in your mouth. I was afraid to do the cola thing...........thought it would make the meat taste sweet. But it did not. It was wonderful........and I will be making it again...........soon, with just the cola and dry onion soup mix. We all agreeded to make it with those two ingredience. It was really wonderful. And, by the way. I made it all in my crock pot. On high setting for 4/5 hours. The gravy was excellent as well. So, thanks(sort of) for a great recipe. And cutting the fat didn't cut the flavor at all. And it was better for us calorie wise as well. I used a diet can of soda.

Fried Pork Chop

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
I tried this tonight for dinner. The only different thing I added was some garlic and onion powder, and they turned out great. Just like my mother's used to taste. And very, very easy. This will be my "Go To" recipe from now on. Forget the soups, and sauce's ............Old fashioned taste is what I was after. And I found it in this recipe.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
Oh Yeah............this was really, really good. The only change I make was adding Provolone cheese along with the mozzarella in the layering......and the added cheese took it over the top. My husband would often order this when we went out. I've never ordered it, just tasted his and I didn't like it. And I'd never cooked with egg plant before today. But we grew it and I did so, knowing that I was going to try making it, because my husband liked it so well.....But me, I didn't know if I would......BUT I DO......GREAT RECIPE, THANKS. P.S. Hubby loved it.....He told me he won't have to order this any more when we go out. LOL.

Simple Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
I tried this dessert today. I had my doubts at first. Didn't know just how it would turn out. But I have to say this recipe is very, very good. And did I mention how easy it was? Couldn't believe how quick and simple it was to make. I didn't have orange juice in the house so I used apple cider.......and it turned out great. I will be making this often during the fall season while apples are at there peek. Thanks, Jean. A great recipe!!!!!

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
Made this cake for dessert today. It's wonderful. I didn't have a yellow cake or a white cake so I used a strawberry cake mix(had one on hand) and it turned out really well. Tasty, but not too sweet. Put a little cool whip on top. Will definely make again. Very quick and easy to make.

Schweinebraten Pork Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
I made this roast for dinner today and I have to say it was very, very good. I made it as the recipe called for. I did however, double the spices and because I had a bag of Granny Smith apples, I peeled two apples and sliced them really thin and put them in the pan with the onions. The only beer I had available was Corona Light so I used that. The out come was beyond my exceptations. It was really, really good. The apples added a tartness, but didn't overwhelm the taste of the pork roast. I've tried the Autumn Pork roast from this site(that recipe is awesome as well) but this recipe had a completly different taste. Both are wonderful and I'll be making both recipes often. Because of this site my cooking abilities have really improved. I'm not always serving the same dishes over and over......I'm a huge All Recipe.com fan. And often refer the site to friends and family. Keep the good stuff coming....

Honey Ginger Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2010
I rated this a 4 1/2. It was tasty and easy to make...I will use less orange zest the next time I make this. The orange overwhelmed the other flavors more than I cared for. Other wise a very quick and tasty meal. Will make again.

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I made this meatloaf for dinner tonight. I followed the recipe to a "T".The only change I made was I followed others advise and made the sauce of 1/2 c. ketchup, 1/2 c. of brown sugar and a squirt of yellow mustard. I put the sauce on in the last 1/2 hour of cooking(I did have to cook it a little longer than suggested because I used 2 lbs. of meat) But it turned out really good. In fact the best meat loaf recipe I've ever had.....and the only one I'll ever use from now on. Great recipe, good flavor, held together well. Just very, very good.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I made this recipe for Thanksgiving 2009. No one liked them. I followed the recipe, made no changes. While they were cooking and after we mashed them and added everything the recipe called for, and taste tested them they were wonderful. We couldn't wait to try them at dinner time. . But after putting them in the casserole and baking them they tasted totally different. Won't waste my time make these again ..........ever. Very costly recipe to make and not have it be good !!!!!

Autumn Pork Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Oh me, Oh my this is sssssooooo good. I did change a few things. I added 2 pealed apples to the squash mixture(only because I had tons of apples on hand) and I used fresh garlic, homemade apple sauce with cinnamon, so I didn't add any extra cinnamon. When I deglazed the pan with the wine, I added the onions, garlic, and extra two apples and let everything cook down some and carmelized the onions lightly. And just before I put it in the oven, I added a couple of small handfuls of dried crandberries for some tartness...........it turned out simply wonderful. We gave this recipe five stars. My husband loved it and I did as well. With autumn being my favorite season, I will make this dish often during my favorite time of the year. I served it with mashed patatoes, and German coleslaw from this site. This one is a keeper.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
I tried this recipe Sept. 26th 2008. It was very easy to make and very tasty and good. I will make this soup often. A lot of flavor in a few easy steps. I did add some graded chedder cheese. That was the only change I made to this recipe. Think I'll leave it just like the recipe calls for.....with a little added cheese at the end, just before serving.
