Baked Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
I've been in the kitchen perfecting my soul food since I was a child. One thing I never got right was mac n cheese, so I stopped making it because it never came out the way I like my mac n cheese to be when it's done right. This recipe was done right. I used a combination of heavy cream, canned milk and a little half n half because that was all I had. I also seasoned the macaroni a touch because I like it to be savory (seasoned salt, garlic powder, black pepper, a little cayenne - light on the salt, it didn't need a lot.) I also used italian breadcrumbs for the topping. Finally, a mac n cheese that I can stick my fork into. Oh! and I used a combo of extra sharp and sharp. Great recipe.

Authentic German Potato Salad
I used 6 strips of bacon, decreased the sugar to 2 tbsp, garnished with scallions and thinly sliced cucumbers. I followed everything else. The only things I would do differently next time is add more cucumber to heighten the flavors and decrease the amount of bacon to 4, as the recipe states. This is a keeper.

Amish Meatloaf
I've made adjustments to this recipe that are probably the reason why I'm rating it 5 stars. I added 1 TBSP garlic powder, 1 TBSP onion powder, 2 TBSP liquid smoke (hickory), 2 TBSP worchestshire sauce, 1 green pepper (equal amount to the onion). I only added 2 TBSP of brown sugar to the meet, and halved the amount of the sauce. Because the recipe's amount is way too much for me. The bacon was a really nice touch and candied the texture by baking it covered in sauce. If I would've made the recipe without my additions, it would've been way to sweet for me. My husband LOVED it and so did I. I will make my version again for sure! Oh, and I cooked it for an additional 15-18 minutes also.
