Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
All 4 of us loved this vegetable barley soup! I left out the garbanzo beans (because I didn't have any) and it was still wonderful...will definetly be making this more often.

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2006
My favorite one so far. Very flavorful and moist. Put it in a bundt cake pan and it turned out great, cooking time only about 40 minutes. I also loved the idea of using cinnamon/sugar instead of flouring..what a nice touch!!

Spinach Balls

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2006
Not the best ones I've had, pretty dry, just tasted like stuffing balls. Wouldn't recommend. Very bland.

Love this...but make sure to wait long enough to cut into, I cut it too soon and it got all over the plate and the table :)

Restaurant Style Chicken Nachos

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2006
Pretty good, but not what I was expecting, but everyone still liked it. We had some leftovers and re-heated in the oven the next day, and to my surprise it still tasted good!

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2006
Pretty good, but not the best. I have done a few other Banana Bread recipes on this site and my favorite so far is Cathy's Banana Bread. This one is good, but still missing something. I followed the recipe just as listed (except used Butter instead of Margarine) and felt it could use more flavor, maybe some vanilla and cinnamon next time. But it was very moist. Cooking time was 40 minutes, not 60.

Pam's Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup

Reviewed: May 16, 2006
Wonderful recipe...great flavor! Only thing I did different was omit the poultry seasoning (I didn't have any) and it still turned out great. I bought a rotisserie chicken already cooked and quick cooking long grain and wild rice and this recipe took me no time at all. This will be made very often.

Carrot Souffle

Loved this-made it just like the recipe stated and it turned out perfect. Served it with Pork Loin and Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans and it was wonderful. Everyone at the party raved about it.

Zucchini Appetizer

Reviewed: May 14, 2005
I followed the advise as suggested and added 1/2 c. of biscuit mix and an egg, and it was easier to pick up. It took about 25 minutes to cook. However, I was not impressed with this recipe. I felt it was very so-so, nothing to write home about. I probably won't make it again. I took it to a picnic and it did get eaten, but no one made any comments about it.

Egg Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2005
I used non-fat mayo so added a little more than it called for-and when I asked my husbancd to try it he said "It's perfect!"-he didn't even know it was non-fat mayo. He usually asks me to add something, not this time. It is great. thanks!

The Amazing Swedish Meatball

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2005
Was in a hurry and needed a quick appetizer. Used frozen meatballs. For the sauce-I just used 1 teaspoon of salt-per suggestion of other reviews and when it was time time to add the sour cream I only had 1/4 cup so for the other 1/2 cup I used french onion dip-it actually gave it a nice flavor. It worked well for a quick appetizer. Next time I'll try the whole recipe.

Zuppa Inglese

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2005
This was a very similar texture to Tiramisu-but with a Spumoni flavor. I had a party and make this and everyone liked it. I couln't find ladyfinger cookies so I used the anisette sponges and it turned out fine. I did end up using more cherry juice and rum extract though. I was pleasantly surprised.

Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2005
Had a party and made this recipe. It was a hit!! Doubled the recipe and used Italian sausage instead of the smoked sausage and chicken broth instead of the bouillion. I cooked the bacon alone and just used enough of the grease to saute the onions. Everyone just loved it! My husband actually even said he thought it was the best thing I ever made. Thanks so much for this recipe.
