Oatmeal Crackers

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
I hate to say it but I thought these were so bland. I did herbs and Parmesan cheese, but even my 1 year old wouldn't eat them. Too bad, they looked healthy.

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
This is great with walnuts too, since that is what I had on hand! I added some nutmeg and vanilla too.

Cranberry Apple Pie III

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
I thought this was pretty good, although I would make a few changes the next time I make it. I used 3 granny smith, 3 golden delicious and 1 gala and I thought that was a perfect amount for the filling. I would halve the amount of topping I made, threw out a lot of it. I would not add much sugar to the cranberry mixture, just my preference but I dont usually put sugar in my apple pies. I would also tweak the topping a bit, make it more interesting. Maybe use oats, not breadcrumbs, and turn it into more of a crumble topping.

Steak Tips with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: May 26, 2006
Pretty good. I didn't have any wine so I didn't use any which probably made a difference! I would HIGHLY recommend low sodium beef broth. I did not and the salt overpowered the sauce.

Good Dog Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
These cookies were very easy to make. They rolled out best if you chilled the dough before trying to roll out and cut. I used bone shaped cutters, along with Christmas shapes since they are for my holiday gift baskets. My dog loves them, she was crying and scratching at the counter where they were sitting!

Peanut Blossoms

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2005
No matter how many different cookies I make (and that's a lot!) these remain my favorite. The combination of peanut butter and chocolate is great, and they taste so good a bit warm so the kiss is still soft!

I love this! It is so simple, you can use any combination of meat and cheese. It only takes minutes to make.

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
This was really good, and quick too. I also cubed chicken and marinated it with the shrimp. They worked well with the marinade and skewers too. I will definitely make this again!

Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
I agree with some of the other reviewers. I thought it was a bit bland, which was disappointing since it looked so good! I added salt and pepper after the first taste, which helped but I think adding garlic would be very helpful to this dish.

Hazelnut-Mushroom Pilaf

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
Yum! This was great, and original! Mine came out perfectly, not too wet or dry. I will need to stock up on hazelnuts when they are on sale!

Almond Mandarin Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
This salad was delicious. Goes with anything, and it is easy to make. I skipped cooking my own bacon and bought the bagged real bacon pieces by Hormel. The dressing was delicious as well, although I probably didn't need as much. Next time I won't add all of the dressing and see how much I need.

Apple Loaf

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2005
This wasn't too exciting. The apples are very difficult to taste, and we thought it looked, smelled and kind of tasted like corn bread!

Grilled Salmon with Avocado Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2005
This was pretty good, and easy to make. The avacado mix tasted mostly like a more bland version of guacamole.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
This was a delicious way to make sweet potatoes. I would definitely recommend cutting back on the sugar unless you like it really sweet. I did half the white sugar, and half the topping and it was still sweet. I will definitely make it again, probably with even less sugar. Very tasty, kids love it!

Pumpkin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
This bread was good, but way too heavy for me. Everything about it was dense, and I couldn't eat very much. I prefer a more airy bread, one that is good for breakfast without making you feel weighed down. It was good though, maybe more of a dessert.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2005
This cake is delicious, and perfect for St. Patty's dessert. It is also so easy to make. It uses lots of Irish Cream liquor and so can be expensive, but worth it!

Cheesy Catfish

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2005
My husband and I both like this dish, we have had it many times. I usually don't have as much fish as this calls for, so I don't make as much of the dredge. I also try to use as little margarine as possible to keep the fat content lower and make it less soggy. It seems to work!

Hoot Owl Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2004
I give this three stars for being cute. I think I did something wrong because I could not get the eyes to be round, no matter how long I chilled the dough or how sharp the knife they just kept getting flattened. They also tasted kind of boring. Probably my fault!

All I have to say was YUM!!! Try this cake, it is worth the calories. My husband doesn't even like carrot cake and he loved this one. It stayed moist for an entire week.
