Chocolate Covered Cherries

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
I made this for a Christmas party and they got rave reviews. I personally don't like chocolate covered cherries, but wanted to make something different. They are time consuming to make, but worth it according to my guests! I will be making them again.

Candy Bar Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
This candy is really good! I made it for a Christmas party and it got rave reviews. I made some with peanuts and some with macadamia nuts, which I thought made it even better- but then again, I am partial to macadamia nuts.

Almond Crunch

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2006
I made this recipe exactly as written and it came out horrible! I wasted a lot of chocolate on this recipe- it went in the garbage. Cooked it until the candy thermometer read 300 degrees and I think that was too long- it tasted burnt. I would think there is a problem with my thermometer, but I used another toffee recipe that required cooking it to 285 degrees and that one came out delicious!

Make Ahead French Toast

Reviewed: May 15, 2006
I made this recipe for Mother's Day brunch and got rave reviews from everyone!! I used 1 cup milk and 3/4 cup of half and half and I still had some leftover, but the french toast came out great- not soggy at all. I used cinnamon swirl bread and it was commented that it tasted just like Cinnabon. My family said this recipe should be a new tradition on Christmas morning. Thanks for the great recipe!!!!

Mud Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2004
This is such an awesome recipe! I did some simple modifications and it was a hit at Thanksgiving (The proof was in all of the leftover pumpkin pie that year!) First I used a store bought espresso I found in the coffee section of my supermarket. Then because I love macadamia nuts, I chopped them and spread them over the caramel layer. I also use two different ice cream flavors- chocolate and coffe, and I spread more of the espresso sauce in between those layers. Finally I top it off with more of the chopped macadamia nuts and serve it with whipped cream. Make sure you cut the slices thin because this is rich- but absolutely heavenly!!
