Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
These were a bit too big and dense for me I prefer a lighter cinnamon bun. It may be a clone of cinnabon but I have never eaten at cinnabon as a comparison.

Irish Lamb Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Very good stew. Next time I may add more herbs like parsley and rosemary. My teens did not ask for seconds as they usually do when I make beef stew.It could be they didn't care for lamb.

Honey Glazed Ham

This is amazing. I have made it 2 times and it has been devoured. I freeze the ham bone to use in split pea soup at a later date.

Irish Brown Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
A tip for cooling your Irish Soda Bread. Wrap the bread in a clean t towel and stand on its thin edge resting against the wall on a diagonal. This is what my Irish Mum always does. That way it cools a little slower and the crust is crunchy but not too tough. If there is any left over it's yummy toasted lighly the next mornong with jam. I'm off to bake!!

Different Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
Way to rich!! And I didn't even add the ham or cheese. The flavour was nice but it wasn't even good enough to keep the leftovers. I would not reccomend it or try it again.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
At Christmas I checked this 1/2 way through the cooking time and it's luck I did. It was goopy so I threw it into a casserole dish and baked it in the oven uncovered to dry out. It had a nice flavour but I won't use the crock pot method again.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
My teen aged son describes thees as "freekin Awesome!!!" The instructions were a little confusing when the recipe is doubled. The milk amount should not be 2/3 cup (double stated on the ingredient list) but rather follow the directions where you fill the measuring cup up to the 2 cup mark with milk after adding the eggs and oil to the cup first. They turned out very well using frozen wild blueberries(very small the size of currants) I found even though I did not double the topping I still had some left over. My sons and their friends devoured them after swim team practice. Thanks for a great recipe.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This is almost identical to my meatloaf/burger/meatball recipe. The only differance is I dont used steak sauce but BBQ sauce instead and add 1 tsp worchester. I do not add the cheese as its to heavy and not necessary. Also dont add all of the soup powder as it is tooooo salty. This is a great all round recipe.

My family is from Ireland and I grew up with this recipe. As kids we used to call it Carsnips and Parrots. This combo is great in a soup too.

Baby Carrots And Brussels Sprouts Glazed With Brown Sugar and Pepper

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
I reduced the pepper to 1 tsp and it was still too much.Overall it lacked flavour I found the sprouts to be undercooked. No one ate it at our Canadian Thanksgiving dinner. I was quite embarassed that I brought it. I think it worked for some because they did so much tweaking to make it work.

My son who loves fish wouldn't finish his dinner he said he got bored of the flavour. I felt it just tasted like cesar dressing on the fish. I was very dissapointed that it didnt live up to its rating.

Corn and Black Bean Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
I add a little chopped vidalia onion and sweet red pepper to give a little colour. I make it at least once a week during the summer. Leftovers are nice in a tortilla with cheese and lettuce for a veggie tortilla.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2004
I made this salad the first time a few years ago for our street golf party. It received raves and has been a favorite ever since. I always serve it at mothers day brunch because it goes really well with egg dishes. I often omit the almonds when my neice is there since she is alergic to nuts but it is still fantastic!
