Easter Meat Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2005
I loved this recipe. I halved the recipe and used a springform pan and it looked beautiful and tasted wonderful. I also left off the top crust as someone else suggested and it turned out great. It will be on my list for favorite Easter recips. Thanks for sharing!

Emma's Slow Cooker Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
This recipe is WONDERFUL. Only changes I made were to suit me. I used a medium rutabaga inplace of the potatoes; I added a bottle of clam juice, fresh thyme and I added the clams after the soup was done so that they wouldn't be chewy. None of the changes actually had to be done. I believe this soup is excellent as it is. Thanks!

Creamiest Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
This recipe is WONDERFUL!! I made it on the stove yesterday and then again in the crock pot today. I used arborio rice and used Splenda in place of the sugar. I also added cinnamon sticks to the milk as suggested by others, PLUS raisins because we love them in our rice pudding. Otherwise, the recipe is perfect as written. It did take about 30 minutes longer on the stove than the recipe said. FOR MAKING IN THE CROCK POT, I first heated the milk, Splenda and cinnamon sticks on the stove before putting in the crock pot on low. I stirred it after an hour in the crock pot and then continued cooking it and stirring occassionally. It took 3 1/2 hours on low. Then I added the raisins for about 10 minutes to plump and slowly stirred in the beaten egg mixture and turned off the pot. Refrigerated until chilled. It was perfect. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS RECIPE. I will definitely be making this again and again.

Chocolate Hazelnut Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
Excellent frosting. I don't like store bought frostings, but I thought I'd give this a try because of the nutella. I used sugar-free nutella because it's what I had on hand and it came out perfectly delicious. I imagine it would be so much better, but sweeter with the regular nutella. I made a 2 layer cake and topped my cake with a cherry and some crushed hazelnuts. There was plenty of frosting for a nice thick layer. Thanks for the recipe.

Tricia's Pineapple Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
WOW! This was OUTSTANDING! I've had this type of casserole before and really loved it, but I've never made one myself. I halved the recipe for just my husband and I. He went back for seconds! I had to put the oven at 375 because I was making a chicken dish with this and it worked out just fine. I just took it out when it was browned and beautiful. This is a keeper. Thanks for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
The flavor was terrific, but mine wouldn't shred at all. I spent over $13 for a boneless chuck roast and it wasn't worth it. I'd like to try it again, because it was so easy, but I was really disappointed. Can't figure out what I didn't wrong.

Mexican Cookie Rings

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
This recipe is terrific. They are simple to make and turn out perfectly. They have a very nice vanilla and butter taste. I made NO CHANGES to this recipe. I thought they were very pretty too with the colors of the Mexican flag. Great addition to our Cinco de Mayo celebration. Thanks for the recipe Glenda.

Creamy Limoncello

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
This is delicious and so easy. Much cheaper than buying creamy limoncello too. All the adults at my party enjoyed this drink. Thanks for the posting. Don't know how long it will last in the refrigerator, but if you freeze it, you will have it for a good long time.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
YUMMY! This cornbread was excellent. It was moist and slightly heavy with just the right amount of sweetness. This is the best cornbread yet in my opinion. Only thing I did different is that I didn't have an 8" square pan so I used a 9" pan and cooked for 8 mins less. Otherwise, I didn't change it at all. Great Recipe...Thanks!

Italian Anisette Cookies

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
Loved these cookies. Only thing I did differently was that I added 1 T. anise seed and shaped these into different shapes like my grandmother used to do. Otherwise, recipe is perfect. This is a wonderful dough and so easy to work with. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
This is a wonderful recipe. At first I thought it was too much milk, but it was perfect. The meatloaves were done at the exact time stated and they were moist and delicious. Loved the topping. Didn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing.

Zucchini Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Very Good recipe. My Mom loved it and asked for the recipe. I made the NO ROLL PIE CRUST I by Karin Christian from this site for the first time too. Both were great and will definitely make again. The only change in this recipe was that I followed another raters comment and substituted the evaporated milk and sugar for a can of sweetened condensed milk. It worked out perfectly and just the right sweetness. The pie turned out solid and beautiful. I baked it at 425 degrees for 5 minutes and then reduced heat to 325 degrees as directed. It took 50 minutes at 325 degrees in my oven. Definitely worth a try with your summer bounty of zucchini. Thanks for submitting this recipe.

Chinese Spareribs

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
These didn't work out for me. They were dry and tough. It may have been that there wasn't enough meat on the bones of the spareribs that I chose. Maybe I should have cooked them less, but spareribs always have to be cooked long in order to have them fall off the bone, so I didn't want to do that. The flavor was pretty tasty though.

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
Texture of this cake was very nice, tender and moist. I hate it when people rate a recipe when they haven't tried it as written, but I did substitute 1/2 c. peanut butter for half the butter and 1/2 c. peanut butter chips for half the chocolate chips, as someone else suggested. My husband LOVED this cake and reminded me to save the recipe. I thought it was very good, but not exceptional. However, I am planning on keeping the recipe because I want to try it as written. At any rate, it is a very nice coffee cake and worth making. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Apple Bavarian Torte

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
WONDERFUL DESSERT! I saw this recipe on another site and was excited to try it. I used canned pears as another person suggested because I wanted something just a little different. WOW! It was so beautiful, and so delicious. I got so many compliments when I served this on New Year's Day. Great recipe! Don't know why anyone would have trouble making it. It was simple to put together. It really couldn't be easier. Thanks!

Brunch Omelet Torte

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
This Breakfast Torte was excellent and picture perfect. I made it in a 9" springform pan. It is well worth the effort. I didn't find it to be difficult. I made it on Friday evening and baked it on Sunday morning for my mother's birthday. It got rave reviews from everyone.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: May 7, 2004
YUMMY! The dressing is wonderful. I even tried this with Splenda instead of sugar and it was great. Had to eliminate the cranberries for my low-carb friend once too. Added a couple sliced fresh strawberries instead. WOW, great recipe.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
This recipe was SUPER. My grandson said it tasted like pizza. I loved the balsamic vinegar bite to this bruschetta. Thanks for the recipe. I didn't have the exact amount of sun-dried tomatoes called for, so I couldn't give it 5 stars at this time.

General Tsao's Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
The sauce is terrific. Can't give it 5 stars because I used Joe's General Tso's Chicken recipe from this site to make the chicken part. I twice fried it like this recipe though. I usually don't like to rate a recipe when I've changed it, but I just wanted others to know that both recipes are great. I just think this sauce is better. Thanks to both chefs for sharing their recipes. I also think a little hoisin sauce would be a nice addition to this sauce, but I just made it as is for now. Thanks again!!
