Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
Wow! This is a really great recipe. Very easy and much healthier than most frosting. I made a two-layer strawberry cake and used this to frost the outside. I didn't use it between the layers of the cake after reading other reviews that it doesn't function well between layers. This is an excellent fluffy and light frosting. Definitely a keeper.

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2007
This is a really wonderful bread recipe. I have made homemade bread several times before, but this is now my favorite. The result is such a soft, light bread rather than the very dense bread you often get when making bread at home. The only change I made was to use melted butter instead of shortening. I used my stand mixer with the dough hook to do the mixing and kneading and it worked wonderfully. This is just a delicious bread!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2007
This was a very tasty and easy dish, and quick to whip up after a long day. I used onion salt and celery seed because that is what I had on hand and I'm sure it didn't make a difference. My husband is already asking for it again and he typically doesn't like fish.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2007
These are really great muffins. I love them and I'm not really even a banana fan. The only change I made was to add a little cinnamon (1/2 tsp.) to the batter. They would probably be good with chocolate chips too.

I love this dip. I have been making it for years now, and it has become an old standby for me. It's always gobbled up at parties.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2007
Excellent recipe. This is the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe I had been looking for! I didn't change a thing. I made a double batch for a dinner party, and served them warm out of the oven a la mode. They were a hit.

Grecian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
This is a really great recipe. It takes minimal prep, but is incredibly tasty. Guests are very impressed by it, even though it doesn't take much work. It's been too cold to grill out yet in Indiana, so I've just baked it at 375 for about 45 minutes, and it has come out perfect every time.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
As someone who is not a big fan of banana bread to begin with, this is really a great recipe. I made it because my husband likes banana bread but I ended up eating quite a bit myself. Per other reviewers suggestions, I added 1 tsp. each of vanilla, cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice to give it a little more flavor. It was great!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
These mushrooms have become a favorite among all my friends. I made a double batch at my last party, and they were gone in a snap. Several people requested the recipe afterward. I have to agree with the other reviewers who said you don't need a full batch of the stuffing. I make 50-75% the amount called for, depending on how large the mushrooms are, and it is always more than enough.

Holiday Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
I did as many other reviewers suggested and used a layer of semi-sweet chocolate underneath the white chocolate. I also added a teaspoon of peppermint extract to the white chocolate. This was hugely popular with my husband and friends. I don't know how it is since I don't like mint, but they all raved about it.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

This is a great recipe! I used ground turkey instead of ground beef for a healthier, low fat option. I made a half batch and we had dinner for three nights!

This was excellent!! I made it for a get together today, and everyone LOVED it! It was also super easy. I didn't make any changes and it was wonderful as-is. I think this will definitely become a staple for get-togethers.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
This was a good recipe to start with and turned out great in the end, but only because of some very necessary changes I made. I made the batter exactly as directed, and got a concoction so thick there was no way I could fold in blueberries or pour into muffin cups. I kept adding milk until I felt like it was a better consistency to work with. Also, the amount of crumbly topping suggested is more than twice what you need. I completely covered the tops of the muffins and still had over a half a bowl left. However, with these changes they turned out fabulous. I made them for guests staying over and they were a huge hit!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
This was super quick and easy to make. I dipped the chicken in milk before coating with bread crumbs after reading all the comments that something was needed to help them stick better. Milk is a much healthier option than butter as others used. My husband loved it!

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2006
This was fabulous! So quick and easy, and absolutely delicious. This will be great to make on busy nights when I need something quick. I highly recommend adding the sour cream and green onion garnish as suggested - I think it really added something.
