Cherry Pie III

Great crust and pie! Added 2T of sugar to the crust, though, we like ours slightly sweet. And used 3 c. cherries. Will make again as soon as the cherries look good! Thanks!

Delicious! My 2 yr. old loved it too, despite its spiciness. Used evaporated milk instead of heavy cream.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
I made this cake recipe but didn't have whole milk, so I used the milk mixture from Monica's Tres Leches Cake on this website to pour over. Excellent! I loved this cake's consistency/texture. Thanks!

Tres Leches Cake

I love this milk mixture! I've made this cake a few times, and every time, I also get those little chewy pieces. I'm not sure why? Maybe I'm not folding in the whites enough. Still yummy though!

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
Great taste! After 6 hrs, the meat was so tender it was almost melting (not so great on presentation, though). Maybe I sliced my sirloin way too thin...Other than that, I used worcesteshire sauce instead of soy, and browned my meat with some fresh garlic. Instead of boullion & water, I used 1.5 cans of beef broth. I added my peppers & onions for the last 2 hrs. and they were still too tender for my taste. Next time I'll add them for the last hr.

Roasted Vegetables

Tasty seasoning. Left out the eggplant, used yellow, not red onion , and lightly brushed veggies with olive oil after first 20 min. (I forgot to add it to the bag)

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2006
As Rachel Ray says, "Yum-O"! We loved this! Read reviews and: doubled the marinade, used red wine vinegar in place of sherry, 2 T fresh minced onion, and marinated about 18 hrs. I chose the easy way out and baked at 425 x 30 min. Boiled down the marinade and added cornstarch afterwards.

Oatmeal Pancakes II

Very yummy and simple. Has a nice different taste. Added some pecans for a nutty flavor. Didn't have buttermilk, so used 3 teaspoons of vinegar and the rest 2% milk to make total of 3/4 c. Still very good!

Though my husband didn't care for this much, I loved it! Added raisins. I might decrease the vinegar next time.

Quick, easy, and yummy! Read reviews and decided to add stewed tomatoes, and extra water (enough to cook my pasta shells).

Frank's Famous Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
Mmmm...yum! Didn't have fresh mushrooms, so I used canned. Left a couple tablespoons less of the paste, and added 3T of brown sugar as someone mentioned. I had some time, so I let this simmer for an hour. Thanks Frank!
