About this Cook
My kids are both in college now, so I mostly cook for just myself. When I get home from work, I cook things that are are fairly simple and quick.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Anything italian is always good - lasagna, spaghetti, meatballs and sauce and anything that goes with it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, I made these incredible filled raisin cookies that I got from one of my mom's old cookbooks. Now I continue with making a great pound cake and other cookies and cakes and love to take to friends or bring to work to have them taste-tested.
My cooking triumphs
Baking is the most fun for me. Although I do say that I could get flour on me even if there wasn't flour in the recipe! I love holidays, as its a huge excuse to try new things.
My cooking tragedies
Nothing really tragic, but lots of things my kids didn't really "care for" when they were younger! When they were little, my nieces and nephews used to love my hamburgers, as they were very greasy (or, as they said, juicy!)

Creamy Chocolate Frosting
Perfect, perfect perfect chocolate frosting recipe. I added a touch more confectioners sugar to make the frosting a little more stiff, as I was piping it onto my cupcakes, but other than that, didn't change a thing. My batch frosted about 15 cupcakes.

Best Brownies
Hands down, best and easiest brownie recipe! I used a wooden spoon to mix everything together and did not frost them. They got a really nice crispy edge and the inside was nice and chewy. Will definitely make again. Thanks for the great recipe.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup
Great recipe and definitely adaptable to whatever veggies you have. I added a can of black beans and small white beans for some protein. It does make a ton of soup, but I thought all the amounts were just right. It does last for quite some time in the fridge as well. Thanks for the great recipe!
