Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2005
This chicken was soooo tender and had great lemon garlic flavor. I did follow other peoples suggestions and did the following: 1) used chicken broth instead of water, 2) used enough chicken broth to cover the chicken completely in the crock pot, 3) cooked for 1/2 the time suggested, 4) added fresh sliced mushrooms (yum). At the end because I had used so much broth, I put the liquid back in a skillet and used cornstarch to make it into a thicker gravy. Again, yum. What a great recipe!!!

Irish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2005
Very good recipe and we will definitely have it again. My husband thought that it was a little soupy, but I disagree. I followed the recipe exactly, and thought it was fine as is. Chicken and dumplings is not an extremely flavorful dish anyways (it's simple, warm and comforting), and I thought this was a wonderful version. It was very easy. Warning: when it came time to add the dumplings and bring to a boil, I did not stir it and some veggies got stuck and burned on the bottom of the pot.

Herbed Pork and Apples

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2005
This was a very good recipe! I only give 5 stars to things that knock my socks off, but my family did enjoy this and we will have it again. Probably next time I won't use quite so much syrup as it was a little on the sweet side for me. My husband said that it was fine, though.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2004
Good recipe - as far as the best ever, I'm not sure. They were definitely nice and soft. I did cut everything in half to make a smaller batch. I also added a little extra white sugar like others had suggested to cut down on the "bitter" flavor. Great start, though, because there are so many options with different flavors of pudding and chips. I will definitely use this recipe again.

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2004
This dish definitely has a kick! It is unusual, but very good. I can't believe that anyone would say that it was bland. I did not change anything, but probably next time I would reduce the mustard to about 1/2 or 1/4 or what was used. I'm just not a big mustard fan. I also thought that the leftovers the next day were even better.

Ground Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2004
With a few additions this was a great recipe. My husband loved it. Here are the changes: Add a can of diced tomatoes to the turkey/tomato sauce. Also spices are a must: garlic powder, onion powder, basil, oregano, and italian seasoning. I also would suggest a little less noodles - I used the 8 oz pkg instead of the 12 oz pkg. Even with these additions, this was a fairly quick and easy recipe.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: May 15, 2004
Fabulous recipe! I very rarely give 5 stars but this recipe deserves it. I did NOT think that it was too sweet at all as some others said. I did, however, use whipping cream instead of already made frozen whipped cream. I will make this again and again.

Rosemary Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2004
Good recipe but not great. We will have it again. The tomato sauce was the best part. I will probably use the sauce on my regular meatloaf too instead of ketchup. I did also modify the recipe to lessen the amount of liquids -- only 1/4 cup vinegar and only 1/2 cup milk. I also used 1 tsp dried rosemary instead of fresh rosemary.
