I did not bread/fry the chicken as I wanted to cook a bit healthier. My issue is with the sauce itself, not the chicken. The only ingredient I didn't have is sesame oil. So, I included all other ingredients except the sesame oil. I also cut back on the sugar as 1/2 cup seemed like WAY too much. It did not taste even close to General Tsao's chicken that I get from Chinese takeout places. It tasted a lot soy saucey/gingery with a touch of vinegar. Reminded me a lot of my mom's ginger chicken she would cook. I won't be making this recipe again for General Tsao's.
