Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2014
Yummm!! I did not expect that first bite to be so good! I used orange juice instead of apple because I didn't have any. I will try it again with the apple juice though. I don't often rate recipes with five stars, but this one deserves it! Quick, easy, AND delicious! I served this dish with couscous.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2014
This recipe is delicious. My husband thinks he has to have meat every day, but he said he didn't miss the meat after eating this dish. Great for when you feel like eating a little lighter. One reviewer said, "Don't bread it; don't bake it; make your own sauce; grill it." I can understand making a few little changes, but if you are going to change the recipe entirely, you should submit that recipe for its own review.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2014
My husband and I really liked this recipe. I have made it three times. I make it in the crockpot after browning the beef tips. I usually put a large spoonful of sour cream on top of mine! I love that it is so easy to make. I'm putting this dish on this weeks menu right now! One of my fave's!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2014
I must have done something wrong, because it didn't turn out "creamy" like others said theirs did. It turned out dry. I ended up adding two or three times more olive oil, and I even used more bacon grease than the recipe called for, but that didn't help. I will make it again, but I will follow some of the tips from the reviewers to see if it turns out better. I expected more flavor.

Prime Rib Au Jus with Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2013
Love, love, love it! I wouldn't change a thing! I served Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables with this. It was a huge hit! Everyone said it was the best meal they had in a long time! Then, after serving Caramel Apple Pie for dessert, they were almost floating off their seats with satisfaction!

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2013
Very yummy....even with the anchovies! Very simple to make. I followed the recipe, with one exception: I pureed the ingredients with about 1/4 cup of milk. Next time I will bake the croutons with a little olive oil brushed on them and some seasonings. These ones were somewhat greasy and softened too quickly in the salad. It topped off my menu of Prime Rib Au Jus with Yorkshire Pudding, Make-ahead Mashed Potatoes (both recipes from this site), and mixed vegetables! It was the most delicious meal I had in a long time! (Caramel Apple Pie for dessert!)

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2013
I gave this recipe five stars because it is the first recipe that I used and actually had the cookies harden like they should, and quickly! I have used about four or five other recipes in my lifetime. If I have the same success next time, I will definitely use this recipe from now on! Why change a good thing? (I followed the recipe exactly.)

Eden's Nectar Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2013
This recipe was okay. I think it would be better with the fruit sitting on top in chunks, like a fruit salsa.

Yummy! I've always liked this dessert since I was a kid! And, my kids always liked it, too. I often get a hankering for this. This is a easy recipe, and tastes good, too. Turned out well.

Beer Batter Fish Made Great

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2013
I hardly ever give five stars, but this batter is great! Turned out perfectly crispy and stuck well to the fish. Will definitely make it again. Want to try this batter with onion rings, and maybe even mushrooms!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Easy to make and very delicious! Was in a hurry and used canned chicken. Will definitely make this again. Tasted like I put a lot more time into making it than I did!

Savory Portobello Mushroom Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
I didn't think this recipe had as much flavor as I was hoping for. My husband, a meat lover, was impressed though. I will probably try it again. Using a dense bread is best (i.e. hoagie bun) because the juices soak into the bread quite a bit.

Easy, Mouthwatering Roast Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
I really liked this recipe! The roast was very tender, and it tasted great. I didn't have Montreal steak seasoning but I used the steak seasoning that I bought at Steak-n-shake. My husband loved it, too! He kept asking me when I am going to make it again so I used this recipe for venison steak, too! We both loved it! (It is best if you marinate it for the full 24 hours to help make it more tender and more flavorful, but okay if you only marinate for a few hours.) I will use this recipe often.

Peanut Butter Cocoa No-Bake Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
Better recipe than the ones I have tried in the past. I don't like to use a lot of sugar, so I used one cup of dark honey and a half cup of sugar. They turned out chewy and good.

Texas Sheet Cake V

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
Eating this cake right now! I've been making sheet cake for a lot of years, and this is the third recipe I have tried. They were all good. The thing I like the most is that sheet cake is so easy and can't really be messed up. They always turn out good. And, they are always so moist! Plus, it uses ingredients that I usually always have in the kitchen! I wouldn't say this was the best sheet cake recipe, but it is definitely worth the effort! To the one who said the cake is too thin when using a baking sheet: That's why it is called a "sheet" cake!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
I have been making rolled sugar cookies for years. This recipe is the easiest one I've used for rolling and using cookie cutters. It was very easy to work with. I used powdered sugar instead of flour for rolling out dough. (Hint: put sugar or flour in a shaker so you don't use too much, and it is easier to distribute evenly on the surface.) I only used two eggs in the recipe, because that was all I had, and they still turned out great. If you are not going to frost them, you may want to add more sugar to the recipe because they aren't very sweet. But, if you are frosting them, they are perfect! I divided the dough into four parts and wrapped in plastic wrap before refrigerating. This way I could open each ball and roll out on the plastic wrap, while sprinkling powdered sugar over top of dough. If you work with only a portion of the recipe at a time, it doesn't get too soft and sticky before you have your cookies cut out. I got about forty-two 1/4" cookies (3" X 4"). Can't wait to frost these pumpkins! I'm using a butter frosting recipe from this site. Will let you know how that goes! I am giving this recipe a five-star because of how easy it is to work with.
