Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
I liked this one, I did decide to add a little milk and cheese to increase the sauce. I added very little salt & pepper and used white Cheddar and mozzarella cheese. It was still very flavorful. The breadcrumbs are a must.

Very good and easy to make, my 11 yr old helped me. I took the advice of a reviewer and added the nutmeg and vanilla.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
The meat was good, I cooked it in the oven in a loaf pan at 350 for 1 hr and it turned out perfect. The sauce was a little too sweet for our liking, if I make that part again I will cut the brown sugar in half or more. This is similar to my dad's recipe where there is 1 pound beef and 1/2 pound pork. It works out if you don't have any ground pork on hand. I will be making this again.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2013
Kids loved it I sprinkled on a little chicken bullion for a little extra chicken flavor. We also used a deep fryer and it made quick work of the cooking just 3 minutes per slice.

Mitzie's Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2014
Me and the kids really liked this, I will probably use a little less mustard and I used a cup and a half of beef consomme instead of one cup. I simmered it for 30 minutes and it turned out the consistency we wanted. I will make this again!

Zucchini Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2014
This was good, I followed the recipe and it turned out well. I think I had to cook it a little longer but otherwise everything was good. I may make it again when the kids are not around they were not interested in it.

Butter Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2014
This was much better than I expected, I did add a little season salt and a dash of Cajun spice for flavor and slightly less onion so my son will eat it. He loved it and said he would eat it again some time.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
Very good dish. I used mild sausage and only a pinch of red pepper so the kids would eat it. I also used sour cream and a small amount of milk because that is all I had on hand. it turned out very well.

Leftover Ham -n- Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
Kids loved it, I loved it, only suggestion use a bigger baking dish. I used a 1 & 3/4 quart and it overflowed. I will be making it again. I may even try a little cayenne pepper or chili powder next time.

Buffalo Chicken Wing Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
I left the cayenne pepper out but I don't think that would have given the flavor I was looking for I added a little lawery's season salt but that still did not do it for me. I may try again with a different hot sauce. not sure the butter was a good choice as that made things a little greasy. I may cut back on that also.

Steak Tips with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2013
I enjoyed this recipe, I mixed the flour in water before adding it to keep it from getting lumpy. I used a medium onion because I wanted more of an onion flavor. I will use 1/2 the Thyme but other than that it turned out really good. Thanx for sharing.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
This is a really good desert but I need to work on the presentation some because the top keeps seaming to crack on me. the overall taste is really good though. I do plan on making it again. I used pumpkin Puree and it turns out really well. I left out the cloves, I was afraid of that overbearing taste.

Quick and easy, I added a little spice to the meat. I followed the recipe and the only down side was reheating leftovers was a little dry but that can be remedied easily enough.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
Really good soup, I think I used too much flower but being a little thicker was not a bad thing. Next time we will reduce the pepper from what it suggests to half that amount. Otherwise very good.

Bar Stool Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
I followed the recipe to the letter. They are ok. I would suggest 1/2 the butter because they taste soggy. I cooked them for 1 hr stirring them every 15 minutes. i only used a dash of Tabasco but you cannot taste it I think maybe a 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper may work better if you want hot. I tried this as a second option we often make a ranch pretzel instead. I will post if I cannot find that here.

Starr's Savory Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
I was able to make 21 inch to 1 & 1/2 inch meatballs that I plan on putting in Spaghetti sauce. I needed to clean off the grease from each one after baking them in the oven for 15 minutes. I will use less onion next time, I think the kids would like that.
