Bacon Cheddar Patty Cakes

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
Delicious. However you need to dust these with flour before you fry them otherwise they will fall apart. But perfect for leftover spuds!!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2005
Delicious recipe - the only change I made was that I cooked the chicken in the skillet for a very short time (about 7 or 8 minutes) and then put the pieces in the oven to bake at 400 for about 20 minutes. I made the sauce while the chicken was baking. I served it over some jasmine rice - it was delicious!

Pasta e Olio

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
This was very tasty. The only thing I changed is I added about 2 tbsp. of parmesan cheese at the end. Otherwise, very good with just enough kick.

Very good and easy sauce. I used veg broth - will try the beef next time for more flavour.

Poutine

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2005
Real French-Canadian poutine must be made with cheese curds. The cheese should go on the fries and then be covered with the hot gravy (to ensure that lovely melting). Don't knock it 'till you've tried it!

Hershey's ® Gridiron Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
Excellent cake! Very moist and tasty. I cheated a little and used frosting to make the lines (as opposed to choc.chips). They were not as straight and perfect as they would have been had I followed the recipe exactly. I just stuck a couple KitKat sections in the cake for the uprights (didn't have time to fiddle with licorice) Otherwise, a great hit at the Superbowl party!

Au Gratin Potatoes II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2005
Very good! Although, the bottom layer was stuck to the pan, which was a bit of a pain. Tasty though. Next time I will try with cream of chicken soup instead of celery just to try a different flavor.

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2004
Great recipe - I substituted the beef for stewing pork and it was great! Will make again and again.

Lentil Soup III

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2004
I loved this recipe! I left out the cumin (not crazy about it) and added some diced carrots and celery. I also added an extra clove of garlic. GREAT basic recipe!! Thanks Molly.

Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2004
Excellent bean salad! I left out the cilantro, as my husband and I really don't care for it, but it was still delicious. Even better after a couple days in the fridge. I bring a small container to work for that afternoon snack craving. Good and nutritious!

Cinnamon Swirl Bundt Coffee Cake

Reviewed: May 10, 2004
This coffee cake was pretty good. I found it a little dry but still tasty. I too used fat free sour cream. Will probably make this again, but perhaps serve it with ice cream or a caramel sauce.

Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 3, 2004
I halved this recipe as I just wanted to test it to see if it would be suitable for a Mother's Day cake. IT MOST CERTAINLY IS! This cake is delicious, with much less fat than cake mixes! Now will test out frosting recipes...

Green Beans for a Special Occasion

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2004
Great recipe. I had to cook the beans a little longer (maybe 4 minutes more) to make them a little softer. I used slivered almonds, instead of pine nuts, and it was good. Will definitely make this again.

These are very good! I added 1/3 cup of mini chocolate chips, which made them even BETTER! Will use this recipe again for sure.

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins I

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2004
I was a little disapointed in this recipe. They were not as moist as I had hoped. I wonder if I did something wrong. Anyway, my husband enjoyed them so maybe I'm just picky!

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2004
This was a very good recipe - BUT - EXTREMELY high in fat if you leave it as is. So, I used fat free sour cream, low fat soup, low fat cheese and did not use the extra butter or corn flakes for the "topping" (the last thing this side dish needs is more butter). With all these modifications, it still turned out great (and we felt A LOT less guilty!)

Rosemary Pork Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2004
This is a great recipe - to keep the pork moist, however, I always put about 1 cup of red wine in the bottom of the pan and baste the pork often throughout cooking. It gives it a wonderful flavor.

Easiest Spicy Cod

I used frozen sole filets - and this was great! So easy and good. Healthy as well! It took 30 minutes and the whole dinner was ready - fish, rice, salad and all.

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2004
These were very good and easy to make. Next time, however, I will add some garlic salt and fresh ground pepper for that extra kick. Good basic recipe. I also used egg instead of butter (to coat the chicken) to cut down on fat. Worked great!

Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2004
Great recipe! My guests loved these. I too used pre-cooked crumbled bacon (so my kitchen didn't smell like a greasy-spoon). Will definitely make again!
