Easy Garlic Kale

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2015
So easy and simple. Making this recipe put me in the 'love kale' category. Will make again. I doubled the garlic in this one.

Lemon Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2015
Great taste and something that comes together easily. Love lemon-garlic anything and this one is a keeper! I know I used more garlic than in the recipe-adjust to taste.

Slow Cooker Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2015
Good soup! I made a few changes and this one is a keeper. I used chicken broth instead of the water, doubled the garlic powder and nutmeg, added some ground cinnamon and topped it with some heavy cream. Good easy to make soup.

Mulled Wine (Vin Chaud)

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2015
I used Cabernet Sauvignon for this and it came out great. I strained all the wine to serve and then put some cloves, cardamom, and anise seed in individual tea strainers for each person to add as much or as little as they like. Very tasty.

Great! I didn't strain it and the flavors keep coming out. Perfect for a cold winter night.

Biscotti Dessert Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2015
Not my favorite Biscotti recipe. From reading the reviews that they were bland, I added dried cranberries and pistachios. Still great with coffee or tea. I may have cut mine too big but I only got almost two dozen out of this recipe.

Mindless Meatball Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2015
Good busy day recipe. Easy to put together and cook quickly. I made my own meatballs and only needed half the amount stated. Good taste and a nice hearty soup.

Paleo-ish Salmon Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2015
Super easy meal idea! Great taste too. We needed to add lots of lemon juice after they were done cooking because they came out a little dry but still really good. This on is a keeper!

Mo's Spicy Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2015
This stew has a lot of flavor! Really enjoyed it on the slightly hot side. Didn't change anything and will make this again, with more corn next time.

Lentil Frankfurter Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2015
This recipe would be a good way to get kids to eat a healthy soup! I used turkey frankfurters so it was not too bad. Good taste and a nice hearty soup.

'Just for Susan' Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2015
Nice basic beef stew recipe. To me the juice needed a little oomph, so I added beef boullion, and garlic powder. Good flavor for a cold night.

Cocktail Beer Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2015
Super easy and quite tasty! They were a little bit ketchupy though. I am going to add a little grape jelly next time. Cooking changes I made-I seared the meatballs in a skillet first and did not cook for as long as indicated. They were done in a crock pot in 2 hours on high.

Grandma's Russian Tea

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2015
Loved it! I always squeeze fresh orange and lemon in my tea but the addition of the cloves and Allspice really added a lot to this tea. I'll be making this one again and again. Thank you Grandma!

Baghdad Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2015
This was different! It was coming out watery so I added beef bouillon. Not a fan of the fig in this-it became chewy and sticky. Also would have liked more veggies.

Provincial Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2015
A keeper! The orange juice seemed odd at first but really gave a lot of depth to this stew! I did not make it with the pasta because the potatoes are enough starch for me. I would half the red wine vinegar next time, and there will be a next time!

Sailor's Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2015
This was pretty good. I made a few changes-used only one beer and ground up the peppercorns, added 1/2 cup beef broth in exchange for the beer. I also added garlic powder after trying this stew-it needed a little more taste.

Lentil Lemon Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2015
This was very good! I did not use the swiss chard because it looked bad at the store. I held off in putting in the lemon juice until the soup was done and we squeezed in as much as we wanted. I think 1/2 cup would be too much. A nice hearty soup for a cold winter day! I will make again and try it with the swiss chard or spinach.

Dubliner and Guinness®

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2015
I really love Guinness and cheese! This one had a great deal of flavor and the Guinness added a lot, but it lacked a bit in color and being cold. I heated it up and everything melted together perfectly and then it became a 5 star dip! I definitely would add something for color (I just sprinkled paprika) and definitely some fresh ground black pepper. Will make again.

Guinness® Beer Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
Great dip! It was a little bit too watery at first but I put it on the stove and reduced it a bit and then it was wonderful! I think this would be great with soft baked pretzels and adding bacon would be even better! The Guinness taste really does come through and blends well with the cheese.

BLT Linguine

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
Loving bacon and Linguine! Great combinations here. Next time I would double the spinach (because we love it) and the tomato. I also would leave the lemon to be squeezed on as to taste. I didn't care for it but my s/o did. I feel like it took away from the bacon taste. A good sprinkling of freshly grated Parm and you have a great meal!
