Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
This is another recipe that I thank you for sharing. This is absolutely the very best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've ever made. They turned out just perfect, like you said, chewy, crispy, and they were gone within 12 hours! Thank you so much --I'd give these 7 stars if I could

I didn't know if I"d like them with the worchestershire sauce and the hot pepper sauce, but they were really good. I'll definitely make these again.

Easy Chocolate Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
This was a good way to make somethng more special out of a cake mix. It tasted a lot better the next day. I made it in a bundt cake pan, but that was a VERY BAD idea. When you stick the cake with the fork, IF you can get the sauce to soak in, which is a pain, then your cake cracks into pieces when it does soak in! So make it in a 13x9 for sure!!! I made it a second time in the 13X9 and what a difference! it was like a different cake. This cake is supposed to be made in a 13X9 & left in the pan so that when you pour the fudge sauce on it, it can soak in. That doesn't work with a bundt or other "take out of the pan" cake. You aren't supposed to take it out of the pan at all. That is why so many reviewers say there is too much sauce. So make it in a 13X9 pan and leave it in the pan, and it tastes much better after it sets for a day for flavors to mix, if you can wait that long. It takes the "cake mix" flavor out of it. (I used a cheap aldi's devils food cake mix).I made my rating on the taste of the 13X9 cake a day later and how good it would have been if I'd followed the instructions both times instead of listening to the other people who had made it in a bundt pan. In a bundt pan it just tastes like a cake mix cake with some sauce poured on it, in the 13X9, it's dessert! Also I just used 2T more margarine and whole milk as a substitute for the cream. I couldn't see any reason to buy anything special for this cake.

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
This was really good even though I didn't have all the right ingredients. I used evaporated milk instead of cream, spicy brown mustard instead of dijon, and white catawba wine instead of marsala. also used 1/2 c onion and 2 cloves garlic because I didnt have shallots. I guess you can't mess this up, Still great!

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Another cool add in is when you first start cooking it, add a crushed dried or fresh habanero pepper to make a more spicy flavor when finished.

Nany's Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
I really liked this recipe. I did make the changes that others suggested and also because I didn't have the cheddar cheese I used velveeta. It was really good using 1/2 of the mayo, regular milk instead of evaporated, and velveeta. This was taken to a church carry in and everyone liked it. Thanks for the great recipe!

This was pretty, a great presentation, and great tasting too. I've made it twice so far, and we only had leftovers once because I used a huge amish head of cauliflower that weighed three lbs. Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Spicy Black-Eyed Peas

I had made blackeyed peas before from dried and they turned out like mush. These were actually good. It seems they overcook real easy. I cooked 5 hours on low and they were perfect! Thanks for sharing

Southern Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
I used just bacon grease that I had saved because I was out of bacon, still turned out really good. This was a nice way to fix cabbage for New years, and everyone enjoyed it vs. plain old boiled boring cabbage. Served with corned beef brisket and spicy bean salsa for a different start to the new year.

Stuffed Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
we really liked this one a lot. I tried it with butterfly cut pork chops I got marked down at the meat counter and it was really good. I tried it later with two thin ones sandwiched together and it was also good, but don't overcook or they'll get tough if you use thin ones.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
Awesome base recipe! I really liked this soup. It seems like as long as you use this base of italian sausage, tomatoes beef broth and beans, then you can put in anything you like. I didn't have the right beans. so I used black beans. I didn't have zucchini or spinach, so I used 2 potatoes, an ear of corn, 2 stalks celery, a large bell pepper, and 1/2 c onion. still great. I used italian sausage bratwurst type sausage links and just browned them well and then cut them into slices. This made pretty circles of sausage in the soup. For the second time, day before Christmas when we have a crowd of people over, I'm using twice the veggies and broth and tomatoes and still just 1 lb of sausage and adding a bag of mezzaluna four cheese ravioli. I'm sure that will work too. (edited review-it worked fine with more veggies and small cheese filled ravioli, if you have a crowd and want to extend your soup!)

Apple Cake V

Everyone who tried this loved it! I left out the nuts, and I thought it might be too much oil, so I just put in the one cup of oil and put in milk for the other 1/4 cup of oil. It turned out great! Thanks for submitting this great recipe

Hamburger Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
I really liked this soup. but I omitted the whole thickening part and didn't use the flour and margarine to save some on calories. I used slightly less onion too, and fresh tomatoes instead of canned since I had those that needed to be used up.

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
I made these as written. They are a good flavored cookie, not sweet. Even though it seems that a teaspoon of dough would not be enough, they get a lot bigger around when you cook them. I made mine too big and had giant monster fingers. I used sliced almonds for the fingernails. They break easy so be careful "installing " them. I used strawberry jam to glue them on instead of using the red gel. Don't like that fake stuff. it still looked good.
