Made this exactly as listed (except doubled the filling) and it was delicious! My whole family loved this for Christmas.

Irresistible Whole Wheat Challah

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
Other than halving the recipe and proofing the yeast, I followed this recipe exactly. It didn't rise quite as much as I thought it would but it turned out just fine. It is a delicious bread that I will make all the time!

Raspberry Almond Coffeecake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2013
This was okay...Unfortunately I didn't read the other reviews before I made this cake. In hindsight, I would suggest doubling the batter as it was pretty small and hard to cover the whole pan. Add milk or something as well to thin it out because otherwise it won't spread across the pan. Also, I didn't serve it with the glaze as it was for breakfast, but I'm sure it would be better with it. I'm sure with a few tweaks this would be a great coffee cake!

Devouring Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2013
I made a few changes to this recipe and they made me feel a little better about how many I'm sure to eat! I halved the recipe and used whole wheat flour instead of all purpose. I also added flax seeds to the sifted dry ingredients before adding them to the butter mixture. The combination of those two changes and the old-fashioned oats makes these a delicious, healthier treat (and you can't taste anything strange--in fact, the seeds add a yummy nutty flavor that goes well with the cinnamon). I also baked them at 350 for about 10 mins, and flattened them a bit before putting them in the oven.

Snickerdoodle Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2013
The best part about this cake is that it tastes like you put way more time, effort, and ingredients into it than you actually do! All of the ingredients are always kept on hand, and it is very easy to make. The cake turned out absolutely delicious! I, like the other users, put some cinnamon into the batter. I also poured half the batter in the pan, then sprinkled more cinnamon and sugar over that before putting in the rest. I also doubled the topping using half white and half brown sugar. Next time I'd put half of the topping in the middle. Highly recommended!

Real Strawberry Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2013
DELICIOUS. I can imagine it would be even better with real strawberries, but all we had on hand were frozen. This frosting was still amazing and one of my friends said she'll never accept strawberry frosting that isn't made from real strawberries again. I think that, since I served it over a dark chocolate cake, I would watch the amount of sugar. It was really really sweet and I think a more fruity flavor would better compliment some desserts. Overall it was perfect though and I'm excited to make it again!

Slow Cooker Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2013
With a few tweaks this was delicious and there were no leftovers between my roommates and I. Plus, as a college kid, the ingredients are affordable and easy to have on hand. I fried the hamburger with onion and seasoned it with taco seasoning. I didn't have enchilada sauce so I used a jar of salsa. I added some cumin and red pepper flakes to make sure it wasn't bland. It only took about 3.5 hours in the crock pot and everything was great!Highly recommended.

Kathy's Easy Chile Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
Delicious! Since people mentioned it was a bit dry, I poured some hot salsa in the rice mixture and it was fantastic! I didn't want it to be bland so when I cooked the chicken, I used taco some taco seasoning. Otherwise I followed the recipe and everybody loved it...no leftovers!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
I made a half batch of this recipe and it was good...It may have been too cool in my kitchen for the dough to rise properly and I was feeling too anxious to wait! After reading the other reviews I cut the amount of sugar in half and it was still pretty sweet...I'd cut it down a bit more next time. Also, it took longer than one hour to bake and it was a bit doughy as I took it out too soon. Otherwise it was good and I look forward to making a few changes and trying again!

Janine's Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
So good! I make it for my roommates all the time because there are always bananas in the freezer. We do usually buy the bigger bananas, so three is okay, but if they are smaller I'll add a fourth. I always make it with chocolate chips and it is such a hit! The crust on top is deliciously crispy and the inside is perfect. The best!
