About this Cook
Hey everyone! My name's Sam, and I am a teenage girl who LOVES to cook! I'm not that great yet, but once in a while I'll make something that folks will really like!;) Here are a few things about me: I'm kinda crazy, and really into music! I love country(of course), and classic rock, and some pop. I also dance (ballet, hip-hop, and latin), and I play the piano.I also love football,(go gamcocks!)and I like soccer and baseball. I have a twin sister, who is also my cooking buddy and food critic! So that pretty much covers it! Have a great day y'all!:)
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely LOVE pastas, and they're really easy and fun to make because you can pretty much do anything with it. I also love to bake, not just dessert, but casseroles and veggies are great baked!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family goes to Florida about two times a year, and my grandma (who is part cuban) makes a big meal, and always invites the whole family. To me, my grandma's cooking just means good times, and great memories!
My cooking triumphs
I can make an amazing banana bread, and my pasta pomodoro is always a hit! I'm still experimenting with different recipes, but so far those are my signature dishes!
My cooking tragedies
I CANNOT fry things, they always taste like rubber, (and I'm southern!):(

Southern Red Velvet Cake
This was ok. The actual cake part was really good, and it was pretty moist, but I followed the recipe exactly, and the frosting came out really watery. The cake just absorbed it and it ended up soggy. Not pretty.

Lola's Horchata
I've tried horchata in Mexican restaurants, and I LOVED it! I've been trying to find a good recipe for it, and so far, this one is the best! I added a little more milk for it to come out thicker, but you can adjust it to your taste and it'll still be delicious. Great recipe, thanks for sharing. Delish!
