Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2006
Seriously good soup!! I've made it lots of different ways and it always turns out perfect. I've substituted onions for leeks and ham for the bacon. I always use milk to make it more healthy. To make up for it, and to make the soup thicker, I stir in about 1/4 cup of potato flour - this makes it perfect - almost like a thick stew. I get compliments everytime I make this recipe - and that's quite often!!

Delilah's Frosted Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2004
Tasted just like the cut-out cookies I used to bake every Christmas with my gramma! Made these for valentines day and decorated with cinnamon hearts, what a hit! The only change I made was adding a bit of extra flour so they would roll out easier. Will definitely make again and again.

Bran Flax Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2004
EXCELLENT RECIPE and excellent source of fibre!! Next time around (and there will be a next time!) I will try adding some zucchini as I think it will add something. I'll also add some more spices such as clove and nutmeg. Thanks for a keeper!!

Insanely Easy Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2004
This was great! I modified it slightly by adding tomatoe soup and fresh tomatoes, and tomatoe paste so it ended up being more of a stew, but it was DELICIOUS! Will be making this again and again!

Cheesy Salmon Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2005
This pasta was amazing!! I used whole-wheat spaghetti (as we're trying to eat more whole-grains) which gave it a really full flavour. I also used smoked salmon pieces as that's what I had on hand and it was de-licious! This recipe is printed and stuck to my fridge cause we make it so often, yummmmmmmy!!!

Banana Date Flaxseed Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2006
DE-licious! I substituted golden raisins for the dates and made muffins instead, but they are SO good...and healthy too! My boyfriend never likes anything healthy, but because they flax was ground, he didn't know the difference! Thanks for a great recipe!

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2006
SOOO yummy! I tweaked it a bit and think it tastes as good (or better) than the real thing. I used 2% milk instead of the heavy cream and this makes it less thick but just as smooth. I also substituted 1/2 tsp of malibu coconut rum and 1/2 tsp of disaronno for the 1 tsp of almond extract given in the recipe. It doesn't get much better!!

Absolutely the Best Nacho Dip Ever

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2004
excellent dip - I added a bit of taco seasoning to the bottom layer which gave it a nice spicy flavour. Even better the next day!

Spinach and Rice (Spanakorizo)

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2006
Seriously good - I added fresh lemon and feta at the end as suggested, and it made it even more delicious. A good side to souvlaki and greek salad!

Portobello Mushroom Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2004
These were good, but seemed very tangy. I only used two mushrooms, but kept the marinade portions the same so that could be why. All in all, a good mushroom burger.
