Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
These are soooooo adorable!! I am giving them away as Christmas presents so I used holiday shaped pretzels, and red and green M&Ms, the letter side DOWN. This is a really good kid project, and the sweet and salty taste is really nice! Mmmmmm.....

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
This is a long review - brace yourself! I give the original recipe 5 stars. I give MY version of this recipe 7 stars! 1) I used more garlic and let it simmer with the olive oil for about 10 minutes. 2) I added a teaspoon of basil, oregano, and half a teaspoon of parsley to the bread crumb mixture. 3) I topped the chicken in the pan with tomato sauce, more basil, sea salt, and pepper. 4) I topped the whole thing with more cheese and croutons. (Yes, croutons. That's a trick I learned from watching Chef John. It makes a nice golden looking topping and is just an amazing crunchiness to contrast with the soft chicken.) There are lots of recipes just like this recipe for Garlic Chicken, but my version is more like Chicken Parmesan. So it just depends on what you like. This is one of those recipes that just gets better the more you modify it. :)

I added 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to make a chocolate-peanut frosting. It's so good, I'm eating by the spoonful!

Real Strawberry Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2013
Wow! This is really good! I got so many compliments on this! :) Just the perfect thickness, and it tastes so fresh and amazing. I don't bother with cooking my strawberries, so if you are short on time, you don't have to; it's still delicious. :)

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2013
These are REALLY delicious. REALLY REALLY delicious. REALLY REALLY REALLY delicious. REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY delicious - I could go on and on! I did add a half teaspoon of vanilla to my eggs... and I did bake my crust a bit shorter than it called for ... and I did not have enough lemon juice, therefore decreasing the sugar... BUT even with those set-backs, these were REALLY great. These were REALLY REALLY great. These were REALLY REALLY REALLY great. These were REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY great. (oh there I go again). IN SHORT: These were delicious and great. :D

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
This is the easiest muffin recipe you will ever meet! To make it healthier, I substituted wheat flour and decreased the sugar. No one noticed a difference, and it was a lot less fattening. I'm so happy I found these muffins!

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2013
I was looking forward to making this recipe, but I was NOT prepared for this!!! Oh my goodness this is AMAZING!!!! Like someone else said, this is definitely restaurant quality! I love the red onion taste - it adds to that Greek effect. There's not anything I don't like about this recipe. All I did differently was add a tablespoon of butter to my olive oil. You will be amazed with the delicious flavors in this pasta. I'm about to put it on the table and I'm expecting loads of complements! :D

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2013
These are the best brownies you'll ever make! They truly deserve their name. I changed the baking powder to a half teaspoon. (I like a thick brownie). If you don't want cake-like brownies, don't over-mix the batter - especially the butter and the sugar.

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2013
These were delish! PLEASE make your own taco seasoning. There are many great taco seasoning recipes on this site. I used Taco Seasoning I, omitting the pepper. Another twist on this recipe is to use cinnamon sugar instead of taco seasoning - that makes it sweet instead of savory. I personally like them better as written than what the other reviewers suggest. It's just up to your mood, I guess.

Groovy Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
Wow, this is brilliant! I had to add a bit of sweetener to cover up the taste of raw spinach, but this is a great way to get your nutrients each day! I tried blueberry yogurt, and that was ok, but next time I'll just stick to vanilla. Also, don't peel your apple. A lot of the nutrients are in the skin, and if you blend it well enough, you won't notice the difference.

Taco Seasoning I

Oh, this was perfect! The only thing I changed was omitting the pepper. (first chili powder - very spicy - then red pepper flakes - VERY SPICY - and then pepper on top of all that?! Nuh-Uh!!) Anyway, this was full of flavor! :)

Baked Apples

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2013
Okay, guys, be prepared! I have a long list of additions and substitutions for this recipe! It's a good traditional recipe that you can't go wrong with, but these additions make it a whole lot better! 1) Coat the bottom of your pan with a little bit of water, about 1 Tablespoon cornstarch, and 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. 2) Core your apples all the way, and stick a prune in the bottom. (it may sound gross, but it's really healthy and tastes really good with the apple.) 3) push some chopped walnuts down the middle of your apples. 4) Mix the butter and the brown sugar together first, and then fill up the spaces in the middle of your apples and spread it on the sides. With all these corrections, this is my go-to recipe for apples.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2013
WOW! These are just as good (if not better!) than the bakery's! Everyone pronounced them delicious! I would highly recommend using plastic liners in your muffin cups. If you don't, they turn into a crumbly mess when you try to take them out. Yum!!!
