Made this last night and after reading the comments I made some adjustments. I added minced garlic to the butter to give it more flavor and I minced the onion and layered it in with the potatoes and cheese. As others stated, the cheese curdled after being in the oven. It is way too oily but tasted really good. I also sliced the potatoes as thing as I could and they came out tender. next time I will use alot less butter but otherwise I have no idea why the cheese curdles.
