About this Cook
As of Dec 1012, I'm a mother of 1 and a 1/2(he'll be here in March). Have a wonderful other half who loves to eat and eat a lot. Love having friends over to eat also, most of which have big appetites. Food has always been a huge part of my family; southern family and my mom has been in food for almost 3/4ths of her life. So, you could say its kinda in my DNA. I love to be in the kitchen, I feel most at peace when I'm cooking, catering, or something that involves food. It's like second nature to me, I really don't have to think much about it, I just do it. Oh, and I love watching the Food Network; if I could watch it 24/7, I pretty much would.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, my family never liked turkey, still don't, so for Thanksgiving we'd always have duck instead. That's the only food related tradition we have and I'm the only daughter to continue it. I love how different it is and how the difference kinda speaks to how my family is rather strange.
My cooking triumphs
2012-My first Thanksgiving meal; made most of it completely by myself(other half helped with the sauce while I prepared the ducky), made the duck and sauce perfectly, and I was only 20 minutes later than when I said dinner was going to be ready.
My cooking tragedies
My first try at a quiche; burnt the bacon and then the quiche, other half ate it anyways(told ya he was wonderful). I've had a few other stumbles that he tried to eat so I wouldn't feel so bad but he couldn't get much down, he tried though.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball
I got this recipe from a coworker a few years back. Its my go to thing when I need to make something for a party. Most times people aren't too sure about it at first but once they taste it, I almost never come home with any. I do it without the pecans cause I'm not a fan of those and I feel like its a bit risky with nut allergies. Normally just pour it into a bowl instead of making a ball out of it. Either way, this is always a hit!

Grilled Asparagus with Cilantro Lemon Butter
I loved it, wished I had made more asparagus so I could've eaten more. My husband didn't even try the sauce simply after seeing what the ingredients are; still working on breaking him of that. But overall, it's an amazing recipe :)

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken
Would've given it 4 1/2 stars because my only issue was it was very hot-spice wise for me. My husband on the other hand, loves it! He rants and raves about how amazing it is. Even had me make this for some of our friends when they visited; heard nothing but how great it was.
