Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2014
I lived in Dubai for a year and half which is where I tried this dish first. A recipe I picked up at the local supermarket there noted coconut milk instead of half and half. We make your recipe (slightly different from above) often and have noticed also too much sauce not enough chicken. I doubled the amount of chicken and kept the amount of sauce the same. We can't handle spicy food with 2 kids so I decreased the amount of cayenne and left out the cumin as it takes days for the house to air out. With all these changes, it still tastes pretty good. I hope I haven't drastically massacred your masterpiece :)

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
I prepared this recipe without giving a second thought to it's wonderful rating. I have to say the meatballs were completely awful with the fresh parsley in them. Even without the parsley they were incredibly bland. The sauce was so sweet, I nearly had to take out my blood sugar tester. It's a sauce not a dessert for God's sake. I have to say though that with 2 T of sugar instead of the 8 T called for, and with a little more water and a little less tomato paste, the sauce would be excellent. But as is, I tossed it to the cats.

Herbed Chicken Fettuccine

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
wonderful, i agree with the other reviewer, it's very lo mein like. As I didn't have herb soup, I used a few spoonfuls of herb garlic dip. Also, I didn't have teriyaki sauce so I substituted soy sauce. I imagine it would be even tastier with the real thing. A big thumbs up and thank you for a keeper!

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
I also used ricotta and as I didn't have sour cream, used strained yogurt (made no difference in taste). It was wonderful! Even my picky son loves it xx Oh and used ground pork instead of pork sausage, its a keeper!

Velvety Chicken Corn Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2006
As close to restaurant food as you can get. We really enjoyed this recipe! I did like the other raters and used 1 cup of chopped chicken, 2 egg whites and added the sesame oil to taste. Thank you for this keeper.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: May 12, 2005
It may not be the recipe's fault.. maybe this IS what homemade applesauce is supposed to taste like. But we didn't like it at all, it was bland and way too watery after 15 minutes of simmering. I also had to run it through the blender to smooth it out because, though the apple bits were tender, I prefer creamier textures.

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2005
This recipe is the absolute bomb. All I did differently was cube the pork, instead of thinly slicing it and I used 1/2 ketchup, 1/2 bbq sauce. Thank you for this, it's a keeper!

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2005
I originally rated this one 3 stars and had to come back and update it to 4 stars. From my original rating, 1 problem was that there was too much batter for the size bread pan specified and the loaf rose a little high. I suggest making the mix into muffins or using a larger bread pan. I also wrote that the finished product was bland, better I should have let it cool overnight in the fridge rather than slice it straight out of the oven. It was much better the next day with a bit of cream cheese smeared on it.

Hearty Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2004
I didn't like this at all.. can't figure out what the problem was because I followed the directions to a "T".. the potatoes were shredded but had a bad taste, kind of "boiled" and it smelled bad...

Easy Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
The first time I've ever attempted Shrimp Scampi and it was excellent! I agree with rater #1, frying the shrimp coated with flour made the entire dish kind of gooey/lumpy but it tasted great anyway, next time I will forego the flour and fry the shrimp plain..
