Elegant Oyster Soup - fantastic!

A friend of mine returned from Apalachicola, FL today and brought me a pint of fresh oysters. I searched for oyster soup/stew recipes and this one looked the best to me: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/elegant-oyster-soup/detail.aspx
It was fantastic! I will make this again so many times.
What I did differently:
Used half and half instead of heavy cream - it's all we had
Omitted sage - didn't have any.
Omitted artichoke hearts - don't really like them.
Instead of 1/2 cup of each vegetable, we just threw the following into the Cuisinart: 2 carrots, 2 stalks celery, 1 small onion.
Used 8 oz. quartered mushrooms instead of sliced mushrooms.
This soup tasted like something you'd get in a nice restaurant and say "This is GREAT!". I might eat the rest of it for breakfast tomorrow.
