Chicken El Dermie Le Hermie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
This recipe was a hit with my ENTIRE family - my husband, myself & all 4 of our kids (very rare occurrence!) I melted some real, salted butter with some minced garlic and brushed it on in place of the corn oil spread. Then I seasoned with garlic powder, salt & pepper. I basted the drumsticks again with the butter mixture during the last 8 or so minutes, then broiled for a few minutes on each side to get a little browning/crispiness. I served it with creamed corn and a garden salad. Delish! Thanks for sharing!

Seven Layer Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
These bars are sooo delish! I used all the listed ingredients with the exception of walnuts, replacing them with pecans because that was all I had on hand. I used part of the butter to coat the pan, then melted the rest of the amount called for and a little extra. I also added extra graham cracker crumbs and mixed the melted butter in with them. I pressed the mixture into the bottom of the pan with the back of a spoon to create more of a crust. I followed all of the other directions as listed and the result was amazing! I think the graham cracker crust really added something extra because it had a great buttery taste and it seemed to help hold everything together nicely. I will definitely be making these again very soon! Next time I will try it with walnuts, but the pecans were very scrumptious! My kids and I thank you very much for sharing this sweet treat :)

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
Wow! This alfredo sauce is absolutely scrumptious and oh-so-simple to make! No hint of a cream cheese taste at all. I threw in a teaspoon of minced garlic with the butter while it melted, then added 1/2 a teaspoon of garlic powder with the milk. For the parmesan is used part shredded and part grated parm/ramano combo. The result was perfect! I served it over fettucine with cubed pre-cooked chicken thrown into the mix (a great time-saver!). YUM!! Thanks for sharing :)

Creamy Potato Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
This was extremely yummy! I am a huge cheese and potato fan, but wasn't so sure about the cheese/pork chop combo. I'm so glad I tried it! I modified the recipe a tad, taking suggestions from other reviewers. I seasoned the pork chops with garlic salt, pepper, onion powder and minced garlic during the browning process. I used less milk (only 1/4 cup) to avoid runniness, used cream of mushroom soup instead of celery (my family's preference), added extra cheese (1 cup in mixture, 1 cup on top), and used the entire 30 oz. package of hashbrowns. With the addition of the extra cheese & potatoes, I think it would have been okay to use the full amount of milk called for. I will probably try that next time. Thanks for livening up my pork chop options by sharing this recipe!

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
Country gravy at its best!!! Of course I used sausage drippings in place of the oil, but other than that I followed it to a "T". I've always been intimidated by making gravy for some reason, but I got it right the first time around!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
My husband and I LOVE this recipe! I made a few changes by eliminating the green peppers and loading up on the cajun seasoning to get a spicier taste (I completely coat the chicken with it) and it is absolutely delish :) Thanks for sharing!

Sooo tasty! The only thing I will do differenly next time is cut down on the mayo, sugar & vinegar mixture as suggested by others, but even with the extra juiciness it was still YUMMY! Thanks for sharing!

Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
This recipe was yummy! I've never made homemade spaghetti sauce before, but I was in a pinch for something quick and easy to fix for supper. I stumbled upon this recipe and found I had most of the ingredients it called for and it only took 30 minutes to prepare! The only variations I made were using minced garlic & a little garlic powder, a whole yellow onion (since I did not have any green onions), and I added an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce & salt to taste. I was impressed! I'll definitely make this again!!
