Chicken Tagine

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
Excellent chicken! I put whole semi-frozen boneless thighs in the crockpot as they were going to be in for at least 6 hours. Served over rice as I had no couscous. Next time I would enjoy more apricots, but the seasonings were spot on.

Creamy Italian Dressing I

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
Love it! I used a green onion (it's the only kind I like raw) which made the dressing a lovely pale green color :)

Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Very good! I needed to leave it on while at work, so I left the steak whole and still slightly frozen. It was in for 9 hours on low and turned out great; it was falling apart tender so I just sort of shredded it and served with the sauce over rice. I did add about a tablespoon of cornstarch to the sauce for the last half hour of cooking. Also left out the green onions, but I think they would have added a nice touch. Boyfriend approved, thanks for an easy weeknight recipe!

Buttermilk Pancakes I

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
Awesome! I got compliments all around. I used lemon juice to make buttermilk. LOVE doing it in the blender. Oh and I got 8 pancakes out of the batch.

Lemon Pie Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
Excellent as written. I used bottled lemon juice and only had lime zest...made half recipe in an 8x8 pan and cooked for 15 then 18 minutes. Tastes like I remember from the coffee shop!

Delicious! I simmered a bit longer and served on hoagie rolls with sweet yellow peppers on top, oven fries on the side.

Turkey Goulash

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
Excellent; but the recipe as written was a little dry for me. I doubled the tomatoes and the tomato sauce.

Yummy Lemon Salmon Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Delicious! I used homemade bread crumbs to which I added some Italian seasoning. Also doubled the sauce, which I highly recommend if, like me, you like a saucy sandwich!

Old German Honey Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
Delicious and soft and sweet! I didn't change a thing in the recipe. Next time I might cut down just a hair on the ginger. Took between 8 and 9 minutes in the oven; I tried one pan greased and one ungreased and didn't notice a difference.

I really liked it...however I was the only one. Everyone thought the ginger was too strong.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Great meld of flavors. It's December in Minnesota, which makes fresh green beans a little frivolous for a weeknight dinner, so I used a pint (cut the recipe in half) that I canned myself (no added salt). Because they are already so soft I added them last and just heated them up to temp. The only other change I made was to use black pepper and garlic powder instead of garlic salt. Using unsalted butter helped insure that the entire recipe was not too salty. Love it and will keep the recipe for when the garden is green again!

Hot Mocha Drink Mix

Tasty but not very coffee-y. I added a bit more after tasting a cup. 2 1/2 T made a good tasting mug for me.

I really like this one. I used my dad's homemade chili because he always makes a ton at a time. Cheap and filling :)

Delicious! And easy. Followed the recipe exactly and couldn't wait for it to thicken; my bowl was gone while still soupy. Soooo good.

Garlic Spinach Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
Delicious! I cut the recipe in half and still had a big pan; a lot for a dinner for four. I used stale bread crumbs and added my own seasonings to them. The bottom does brown way before the top; I flipped them over after about 15 minutes to brown both sides better.

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Delicious! I forgot the pineapple but we had tropical fruit kebabs for dessert :) Next time I need to cut my chicken chunks bigger (about 2" square) as I ran out of bacon long before chicken.

Tasty but not in a pretzel-y way :( Fun to make though! Easy. Made a half batch and dbf and I ate the whole pan for lunch.
