Maple Syrup Casserole Made in Heaven

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2014
So, so good. I cut the recipe in half for my 8 inch square pan, and glad I had more than half a loaf of bread to use up (is it me, or are the loaves getting skinnier and smaller...). I did use grade B syrup from Trader Joe's, we did not find this recipe too sweet and I loved the cream cheese. I served with cranberry relish for a topping, it was a great combo :)

Amazing Pineapple Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2014
Tried this while still warm--awesome! I did add a dash of salt. I made a half recipe, using an 8 oz can of crushed pineapple that needed using up. Thanks for sharing your grandma's recipe!

Spicy Cajun Pretzels

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2014
Very good, very addicting! I used homemade ranch mix and only made a half recipe. I went light on the spicy stuff...it's warm but not hot, about as warm as I can take :) Excellent with a brewski. Super crunchy.

Pierogi Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2014
Nice comforting dinner. Though it's strange for me to say this, I think it needs a little more cheese and possibly more bacon as well...I made a half recipe in my 8 inch square pan, using whole wheat lasagna noodles. Next time I will 'salt and pepper to taste' the potato layers, not the top. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Coffee Cake. Literally.

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2014
I made this for my birthday cake and we really enjoyed it! The only change I made was subbing yogurt for buttermilk, and I only made a half recipe/one layer. I baked in my convection oven at 325 and it took exactly 20 minutes. It was a bit more caffeinated than I expected, my son kinda looped out on me :) but very tasty, thanks ern for sharing your recipe!

Banana Bread from Mott's®

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2014
Great banana flavor. After reading the reviews I used a loaf pan but also filled 5 muffin cups...bread still got pretty high but did not overflow :) I baked at 375 in my convection oven, the muffins took about 20 minutes, the loaf was spot on at an hour but did darken considerably. I accidentally doubled the allspice but otherwise made no changes. Next time I'll do 6 muffins and tent the loaf with foil. Thanks Mott's!

Slow Cooker Chicken Pozole Blanco

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2014
This was very good! I've never had anything like it before. I completely forgot to add lime juice, but the only other change I made was to use Mexican oregano. I served with sour cream and avocado toppings, and made spinach and mushroom quesedillas to go with. Great meal, thanks Mazola for the recipe!

Blueberry Delight Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2014
Great bakery muffin flavor! I couldn't find Blueberry Delight so I chose Country Berry, a mix of strawberry, raspberry and blueberry. I used frozen organic wild blueberries, and subbed corn oil for canola. The crumble topping is spectacular! I baked in my convection oven at 350 and they took about 20 minutes. 12 perfect sized muffins. Thanks Mott's!

Christmas Morning Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2014
Recipe Group: Solid breakfast recipe. I enjoyed it very much. The only change I made was to add a little bit of freshly ground white pepper. I did find it a bit salty, but that may be because we are not accustomed to eating American cheese. There was a little water at the bottom of the pan but not enough to concern me. I did only refrigerate for an hour before baking. Looking forward to leftovers for breakfast tomorrow :) Thanks for sharing your recipe, Karen!

Fruit Cobbler from Mott's®

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2014
Delicious and comforting. Super easy to make. My only issue was that the ratio of filling to topping seems off; we had a lot of dough on top, and each serving of biscuit didn't seem to have enough of the delicious fruit. I used frozen organic wild blueberries, which I think aren't as sweet, and homemade applesauce for the topping. I had no biscuit mix so used the recipe for Homemade Biscuit Mix from this site, scaled to 8 servings, to get about two cups. I rinsed my canned fruit too, otherwise I think it would have been too sweet. Will make again and try less biscuit :)

Crispy Panko Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2014
Delicious chicken! Plenty crispy, and the spices were perfect. I wasn't able to get them quite as thin as the recipe wanted, so I cooked them a little lower and slower. We all really enjoyed this, and I made extra to have for lunch the next day (they did get soggy but still tasted great in a wrap).

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2014
Awesome recipe. The only change I made, I had around 2 lbs of ribs, but there was still plenty of flavor on them. Did not take as long as recipe suggests; I had to use my big crock because of the length of the ribs, and did Low for maybe 4 hours and then held it on Keep Warm til dinner. It was awesome :) Thank you Kimber for sharing.

Pumpkin Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2014
Ooh yummy! I used homemade pumpkin purée and had no flax seeds (I put some wheat germ in there for kicks). The only other change I made was by accident; my nephew was fussing as I was loading up the pan, so I forgot the walnuts :) The recipe made 12 good sized muffins with enough extra to do 11 mini muffins (I did remember to sprinkle nuts on that pan!). They come clean out of the paper wrappers, for some reason I have trouble with that, but these were nice and clean and delicious. The mini muffins I used non stick spray on, and they popped out with no trouble. The cranberries are awesome, I would like to try the golden raisins suggested next. :)

DBF loved this one. Had to leave the nuts off his bowl, but was so glad I went to the trouble of toasting some for me! The dressing is AmAzInG. Make this, it's awesome!

Spiced Sweet Potatoes and Cranberries

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2014
Delicious! The curry powder in this is genius! I had to leave out the pecans but I bet they add a nice texture. I roasted in my convection oven at 350 and it took only 30 minutes. Next time I will use a casserole dish though; I used a jelly roll pan (I scaled the servings to 3) and all the delicious sauce flowed to the edges of the pan and burned, instead of caramelizing on the potatoes. The sauce, it's so good!

Slow Cooker Sauerkraut Pork Loin

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2014
WHY did I wait so long to try this recipe?! It is deceptively simple-sounding, soooo scrumptious, super easy to prepare and inexpensive (relatively!). I could not find horseradish mustard, I used a Tablespoon of yellow mustard and a Tablespoon of prepared horseradish mixed together (I could taste just a hint of the horseradish and it was delicious). The only other change I made was to sprinkle the tiniest bit of celery seed along with the salt and pepper. Just divine, thank you so much Nashville Nosher!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies from Mazola®

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2014
Tasty lil cookie! Dough was exceptionally easy to work with. I baked in my convection oven, 25 degrees lower per manufacturer instructions, and my cookies were perfect after only 8 minutes. Oil in cookie dough is weird to me, but I am glad I tried it :) Stacks and travels well too!

Butter Schnitzel

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2014
I love this recipe! I scaled it to 3 and kinda wish I hadn't...the only change I made was to swap the wine (which I thought I had) for beer. I did salt my mushrooms at the table, they were good but the salt made them great (my butter was unsalted just for the record). Got to use my brand new meat mallet and work off some aggression too! Thanks for this delicious simple super-fast recipe!

Blue Cheese Bites

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
These went over well! My biscuits were 7.5 oz, otherwise I followed the recipe. Seemed like a LOT of butter, the pieces were floating in it, so I may try to cut back there and see if anyone notices! Update: Made these again, and can confidently say that this is a VERY forgiving recipe. I used half the butter, a bigger can of biscuits (Grands, if it matters), and feta cheese :) I didn't spray the pie plate, just spread some of my melted butter over the bottom, then brushed the remaining butter over the biscuits (which had been less 'arranged' and more 'thrown' in the pan). Then I crumbled about 3 oz plain feta over top (which in my opinion was a bit too much) and sprinkled liberally with dried rosemary. So so yummy, but took a bit longer to cook, in hindsight should have cut those biscuits into smaller pieces. Great way to make an ole can of biscuits a delicious treat!

Baked Macaroni and Cheese!

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2014
Recipe Group: Very good recipe! I used sweet onion--the only real change I made to the recipe was the cheese; I didn't have all the cheddar called for so I added a mix of different cheeses to make up the difference. Makes great leftovers too :) thanks for sharing!
