About this Cook
I just had a baby on November 19th 2012. I'm currently on maternity leave and therefore, I have been making allot more suppers for my husband and I. I'm always on allrecipes.com finding new ideas to make things tastier. I'm more looking for quick and easy recipes at this time but when I have more time on my hands, I will surely try more time consuming recipes. Other than trying new recipes, I love doing arts and crafts. I've always starting knitting and I have a few scarves to show for my effort. On a personal note, I'm a grade 2 teacher. My husband and I love to fish in the summer and in the winter. We also love to go camping. You would say that we're quite outdoorsy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm still working on making my grandma's traditional Sucre à Crème. It is still a little too runny but the taste is dead on!
My cooking triumphs
I started making bread from scratch and I have to say that they always come out perfect! I am also very confident when it comes to baking desserts. I have been pretty good at making quick desserts and them turning out to be great! My husband is always amazed how I can suppliment an ingredient if I don't currently have it in the house. I just find that you can never make a bad dessert if you love what you make.
My cooking tragedies
On the other hand, I have tried two recipes from here that called for sour cream and both times, they did not come out the way they were supposed to. The consistency was very watery. I still ate them both since the taste was really good, but I don't think they would have hit the supper table if I had company!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs II
This recipe has become one of our favorites. I usually double the recipe and we freeze them for several quick and easy suppers. They go great with rice!

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread
This recipe is my go-to recipe for bread. I can get two big loaves out of it and they have always come out perfect! Great recipe!
