Good chocolate cake. Nothing too fancy, but cake is moist and airy.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
Great recipe for sugar cookies. I did feel like the recipe did not make as many as it suggested it would.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
Easy and basic. I suggest you serve with sour cream, cheese and tortilla chips. I also suggest avocado. Very much like a tortilla soup.

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
I make these for any occasion, and they are always a hit. However, I would suggest pre-cooking the bacon at 400F for about 8-10 minutes, just to partially cook it so its pliable. I'm not a huge fan of grease so I pat dry the bacon, then wrap around the dates stuffed with blue cheese (pick a soft mild blue cheese, St. Agur is always a good choice), then bake for another 10-12 minutes at 400F. This prevents burning of the dates and cheese, but ensures the bacon is cooked. Make a lot, people will congregate and eat many.

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2012
Used a lot of suggestions from others, sweet potatoes instead of potatoes, celery seed instead of celery, and added some minced garlic, cayenne pepper, nutmeg, and curry powder. Served with a little sour cream and toasted pumpkin seeds for the season!
